ac milan - lyon 3-1
villareal - inter milan 1-0

unbelievable villareal advance to the semi finals!
I sure hope Arsenal finish the job, and then Villareal is an difficult team to beat, but lets be honest!
THIS IS THE CHANCE TO DO IT!!

I'm not thinking ahead to Villareal (and if they got this far, then they're as tough as anyone else at this stage).
Tonight's going to be a tough match - despite the first leg, Juve aren't pushovers. The Arse will have to be careful....

you lot are shocked that villareal got through? they are a very good team, i sometimes watch them on play on sky sports, and their style of passing is very good.

Riquelme is amazing, a much better passer of the ball than Beckham, plus they have Forlan who has pace, and can score goals.

to be honest , Inter didnt deserve to go through the next round, cause they didnt play well.
Villareal had more chances to score a goal, so they did it!

Villareal ain't a great side but they are not a bad team either.

They are well organised, brilliant defence, can play very good football and have a clinical finisiher up front.

They remind me a lot of the Valencia team that were runners-up a few years back.

Saying that they were lucky against Rangers and althuogh I didn't see the second leg with Inter, they could have been eliminated after the first.

Before a ball was kicked in the tournament, I thougth they would get last 16 maybe the quarters depending on who they drew.

I hope that Barca win and Henke Larsson scoore the winning goal
So Go Barca Go!! :nanner: :nanner: :nanner: :nanner:

This is the problem, if they lose Riquelme they are totally screwed.

So the final score for today matches are:

Barcelona 2 x 0 Benfica
18' - Ronaldinho
87' - Samuel Eto'o

Juventus 0 x 0 Arsenal
Arsenal advances.

I think the champion will be the winner between Barcelona x AC Milan.

I think this will be Barcelona's year but none of the teams left can be ruled out.

Well done to Arsenal but I must say that was a horrible match, one of the worst I've seen this season in the Champions league. The ball was given away so much and some of the control was awful.

Makes you question how Juventus can be doing so well in Italy.

An ugly match (was really disappointed with Juve - NOT).

But Villarreal won't be pushovers. Hopefully Wenger will remind the team not to start looking towards the final (like everyone else is)...

barcelona - milan

villareal - Arsenal

I think , no HOPE that Arsenal will do what everybody expects them to do and win against Villareal.
Like I've said before, this is THE chance to win it!
Final will probably be against Barca, who is one of the best footballing teams in the world, but even against Benfica they could've lost if Simao just kicked the ball in the net!
So against Barca, you always get a chance, it's just a matter of taking that chance.
You're never ready with AC Milan though, such a difficult team to beat!

So disapointed about Lyon.
But it is a fact, without a world class striker, you can't win Champions League.

So sad 'cause Lyon has, for sure, the best midfiled : Diarra, Tiago, Juninho, Wiltord, Malouda, a great defense and an world class keeper (in France theres a big argue among the people to choose the keeper for the World Cup : Barthez or Coupet).

I also feel sad about Lyon defeat, they played too much defensively in the second period, they just waited until the end of the match with this weak score of 1-1
Making A.Revelleire replacing S.Govou was definately a bad choice, it just make Lyon undergo more and more without real attacks...
Coupet is good but isn't a god, he can fail and showed it....
but Coupet is still the best choice over F.Barthez :D

so, Lyon, see ya next year ;)

and best luck to Arsenal for the 2006 Champions League !

yep, milan had the better chances in the first half and a monsterchance 5' from time but Ambrosinni missed it.
Barça also had some chances and was the better team in the second half.
But it aint over yet, Barça always give chances away, so hopefully for milan they will have Inzaghi back by next week.

But then again I don't care! As long as THE ARSENAL advance, I'm happy!
Thats all that matters.
