Seriously though, why is there even an argument? Why can't people just accept that America has some great qualities and so does Canada? Why must it always be a competition? Neither nation is the best and no nation will ever be perfect. But you know what DOES make a country less perfect? Stuck up, a-hole's pointing fingers at other countries and trying to bring them down. The kind of American pride that refuses to see anything that might be done right in other countries because the "american way" is the "only way":rolleyes: These are the kind of people that make your country look bad...the US isn't very well liked on a global level, thats a huge reason why, because ignorance runs rampant.

The competition is all one sided. Americans don't see themselves in competition with Canada, no matter how badly Canadians wish.

I'm not sure who we see ourselves in "competition" with, if any. Perhaps China as a military and economic powerhouse, but that's all seen as longterm. It also doesn't occupy the mind of Americans who aren't particularly interested in military or trade policy.

Well, lookie here. An American is angry because I think Canada is a better country.

Don't get so defensive. Yes, we have negative opinions of most Americans. So what? You have negative opinions of half the world and by coming on here and lashing out at every non-American in this thread you aren't doing yourself any favours.

You're the one who's defensive. I actually think you're a caricature of the obsessed Canadian. Keep posting please.

Maybe, but I'd like to introduce you to your stereotype: the ignorant American.

rofl oh don't even mention that, they'll go batshit crazy. I brought that up after Crosby scored that winning gold and everyone got in my face about it hahaha.
...except most Americans care about as much about hockey as they do soccer.( and we all know how that goes)

If you've noticed, I have used Multiquote before. I chose not to this time because the thread doesn't have many commentators.

Anyway, your post is ridiculous, I think I'll stop replying to you for a little while and see if anyone else calls you out on it. The part about Quebec and Mexico being islands of culture in North America is so over the top I have to guess that you're joking. If not, that's pretty damn sad.

Who's defensive? Also, was the OP/author of the article an American? If so, then that slams down your argument that we're the ones who are obsessed. You'll never see a Canadian making a post on any forum, or writing an article trying to state why we're better, because you know what? WE REALLY DON'T CARE. We've never tried to be in competition with anyone, because honestly, we're one of the happiest nations in the world and thats all we are concerned with. If anything, we feel poorly for those in the US who wished things were different, but to those that have their ignorant thoughts on how life is in Canada, we just giggle and enjoy what our great country has given us!

Oh and nice try blaming the Mexicans for your obesity rates. Statistically, African Americans have the highest rate of obesity in your country, but I don't even see what race/ethnicity matters. If they're American citizens, then they're American. Who cares where they came from, they're still making your country one of the fattest in the world, and instead of people getting defensive over it, you might try seeing it as a problem that needs to be fixed. :)

Yup I'm a Yankee. Ashleigh, BioDefense does have a point about the Mexicans, I'm Mexican and we eat really good. You'll rarely see a skinny Mexican.

If you rarely see a skinny Mexican then how come there are donation boxes at my local gas station for starving ******** in Mexico.

Holy shitstorms, Batman. Good ol' nationalism at its best in this thread. My ancestors were Canadian supposedly.

Don't like the ****. Don't smoke weed. Cold doesn't bother me. The only beef I have with Canada is their popular music. You guys should've kept Celine Dion, Amy Grant, Shania Twain, and for the most part Nickelback and Bryan Adams.

Neil Young and Default are great. I'll keep them. Oh and I like Jeff Healey, Colin Linden and Jim Byrnes (He was that guys always after Conor McCloud in the Highlander series).

It's no dispute they've had some of the most beautiful ladies in the world - some of whom have already commented here. I'm surprised Pam Anderson's name hasn't been slipped in here.

Check this very thread.

1st you said why do Americans have to be in a competition but you're the one crowing about Canada being superior to the U.S.

2nd....nah forget it. I've got better things to do than argue over this. Take the time to read your own posts and that of your fellow Canadians and have a good night. I'm done.

Ok, but there are plenty of overweight african americans (mostly african american actually) , caucasian, etc. The fact of the matter is, your nation is obese - skin color should have nothing to do with it. New generations of ******** are growing up weighing what fullgrown adults should weigh, and its not because of home cookin - its because of food attitudes and the stupid amount of fast food people consume.

Honestly almost any country can make that claim. US, Canada, England, Brazil, Mexico, Australia, Russia, etc.

Micheal Buble's pretty cool though.

Skin color absolutely has something to do with it, seeing as different ethnic groups process foods differently.

If you want to, compare "caucasian" Canadians with "caucasian" Americans and you'll see that the obesity difference isn't that great.

Talking about fast food from the people who chime on about Tim Hortons. Who eats the most donuts per capita in the world? Canadians.

Fat Canadians run on Dunkins too, my deluded friend.

I thought you were done?

When did I mention Tim Hortons? I don't even ***** coffee! lol. And you really don't need to argue my point because Canada has the exact same chain piles of **** "restaurants" that you do, but alot of us just make healthier choices. The ones that don't, obviously suffer. Or their bodies do anyways. But the growing rise in ********* obesity isn't about how your body handles food - exercise and diet can maintain that. Its just that its 2010, people are moving faster, both parents are working and food practices go on the back burner. Thats the way it is with every developed nation. Its faster for parents to do drive-thru with their ****, no matter WHAT race they are, and get them a happy meal than to spend the time to give them healthy food. Same goes for schools, they're getting fed crap in school too. Again, that goes for every nation, not just yours. Obesity rates are rising rapidly, which just shows that its not the "traditional home cooking" thats the problem.

In any case, this isn't a discussion on obesity so I don't know why it was quoted in the first place. And I don't know why you keep quoting me when you stated that you were done. No need to get uppity, just relax and enjoy a good, healthy, Freeones discussion :) :glugglug:
