Canada vs. The U.S.

A friend and I are considering moving out of the US, possibly to Canada at some point in the not too distant future.

Anyone know any good advantages and disadvantages of each vs. the other?

Legzman

what the fuck you lookin at?
Us...no advantages
Canada...hell at least they have free health care!

My suggestion would be to work in the US just south of the border somewhere so they don't tax the hell outta you and then live in canada for the freebies!!!

I saw Pink Floyd in Ontario in 1993.

That's all I know about this place.

But if it helps George W Bush doesn't live there.

Wait, you list PORN under "Good" for the US. Is porn illegal in Canada?

canada (peacekeeper)- "peace, order and good government"

usa (superpower)- "life, liberty and the persuit of hapiness"

still a toss up? okay well

canada- tim hortons, better niagara falls, legal drinking age of 18 in quebec, 19 in rest of country, a beaver is our national animal, better beer

usa- dunkin donuts wtf?, 21 drinking age, a bald eagle, so called "beer"

so synopsis, if you like waterfalls, early drinking/good drinking and hairy national mascots, then come north of the border my friend

Thank you. :1orglaugh

It's made here. Canadians that want to be in porn like Star E Knight and Lanny Barbie, move to Los Angeles. And it's an obsession in America. A very mainstream obsession. America is synonymous with being the home of porn much like Canada is the home of maple syrup. The US has maple syrup and Canada has porn, but nevertheless :) The Montreal and Toronto and Vancouver porn industries are about the size of the Vatican City. The Los Angeles porn industry is the size of Siberia (and just as cold).

Well, I don't much care where it is made, so long as I can watch it when I want to. I have a sister who lives in LA (in Brentwood). Maybe I'll go....visit there sometime! hehe

Canada has curling. But on the plus side they also have, "Trailer Park Boys", and a pretty good version of, "Make Me Laugh".

They also have the CN Tower and a much better view of Niagara Falls from their side of the river.

Another negative about Canada is that you stand a good chance of being by a bear.

I've seen bears in Yellowstone before. Bears don't scare me. :nanner:

She must have money.

She works for a biogenetics research company. At least, now she does. ;-)

Younger girls in America sort of aspire to porn, though, it's a really weird mentality. Even if they're not promiscuous, the porn look and porn attitude and porn terminology and porn lifestyle are all very... mainstream.

I know what you mean. I see that quite a bit and deal with it in other stuff I do.

AFA, your siggy makes me have seizures!

I'm thinking about moving to Canada as well, since Toronto is only a few hours away by car. This is still up in the air, though; I'm anxious to find out what will happen in the near future. It all hinges upon who will win in the next Presidential election.

That's exactly what we're going doing. We were hoping when the Democrats took control of Congress, things would change. But, obviously, they haven't changed shit. In fact, some things have gotten worse.

Fuckers.

If things don't do some drastic changing when the administration changes, we're getting the fuck out. It is either Canada, or one of the Scandanavian countries. Canada is closer to family, obviously, so it is the most likely place at this point.

The US. It's the most influential country in the world (whether good or bad). We spend more money on our military than the next 10 countries combined. How cool is that? Have you seen the F-117? Really?

We have the best movie studios in the world. The best porn movies in the world. In my opinion, the hottest women in the world (I've only been outside of the US once to Italy). Vegas is freaking great. Orlando is fun. Wonderful beaches all over the US. In the US, you can choose to live somewhere cold/moderate/hot. I live in Florida and it's almost winter yet the high today was in the 80s (farenheit). I'm 30 minutes from Disney World. If you like golf, we have the most golf courses in the world. Want a bigger car? The US is known for our huge cars.

Bad side, our dollar sucks, but that actually should help you on your move over because your money will exchange for more dollars. Canada has free healthcare yes, but that's code for "you pay for healthcare for yourself and others through higher taxes." There's no such thing as "free." Somebody's paying for it.

Now, for Canada, I give you this reason:

I can visit all of those places, though. lol

I live in Florida, too, btw. ;-)

Beaches? Have you ever been to Haulover? :D

What's up with this place and photobucket?

To get a photobucket link to work (for example, if someone sends you hot pix of themselves, and you want to open them, but they're photobucket, lol), you just hit REPLY or FORWARD so the full link is displayed in the quoted text. Then copy and paste the full link into your toolbar, and you can see it.

Ha. Cool. Thanks. <3
