For the guys who start out flipping burgers, making minimum wage, and then rise to become owners and operators of Burger King and McDonald's restaurants, making millions per year:
About 33 years ago, Rob Goodwin started flipping burgers for $2.35 an hour at the East Ridge McDonald’s.
Today, he runs that $2.5 million a year business.
I wonder how many girls passed ol' Rob over when he was barely getting by and are now kicking themselves in the ass?
If a girl is shallow enough that she'll jump for the guy (only) because he has the nice house and can buy first class airline tickets, he may be just as shallow as the girl. So once she ages or gains weight, he may decide that he wants something young, slim, fresh and pretty sitting beside him in first class. The young trophy wife is the natural enemy of every aging gold-digger. But that's the route they chose, so I don't feel the least bit sorry for them (I do feel sorry for the ones who weren't leeches though).
There's nothing wrong with ambition. But choosing someone
just because of what they can "give" you is not ambition.
That is being a gold-digger. And a nice house might just mean a big mortgage. A nice car might just mean a big car payment. A first class tickets might just mean a big Mastercard bill.
Bonus question: what is the number one cause of divorce in the United States? Finances!
