As much as I abhor conspiracy theories Petraeus leaving because of an "affair" seems strange in a city that thrives on extra marital activities. I wouldn't be surprised that he left because of Benghazi. He'll still be subpoenaed no matter where he goes when the time comes.

James Cartwright would've been the current Chairman of Joint Chiefs of Staff. His close relationship with a female Marine captain on his personal staff got him in trouble.

He had to die to end his career politician days. Term limits are needed.
He had too. Great man and patriot. Proves we are all human. Can't have someone of that stature holding such a lofty position being opened up for possible blackmail or extortion and still keep his job. The mistress probably threatened to go public with it and he stole her thunder.
Well this is a shame. I liked Petraeus. Still do to tell the truth. From all accounts, he was very good at his job.

There should be an investigation into the Benghazi attacks. People made mistakes after the attacks. Republicans did not want to go into Libya, so they just being normal politicians.
