BP and Shell post big profits in era of record oil prices

BP PLC and Royal Dutch Shell PLC, Europe's two biggest oil producers, posted forecast-busting first-quarter earnings on Tuesday thanks to record crude oil prices that are expected to bolster profits across the industry.

The combined profits of $17 billion reignited calls for a windfall tax on oil profits as consumers struggle to pay for food and fuel.

:cussing: This is fucking bullshit! Here we are, paying more than twice what we paid last year to get gas, and these bastards are making record profits yet again. That's totally unfair that we should have to pay so much while these greedy fucks watch us struggle. Supply and demand my ass. I understand how the supply and demand game works, but this is bullshit and unfair that we should pay as much as we do at the pump and the oil companies don't do anything to ameliorate the situation.
