I think Ryan Leaf. Jamarcus Russell could catch up to him though in due time.

Is it just me or do the NBA drafts tend to have normally the worst selection of the four major? Seems like every year it drops exponentially after the first couple guys. :dunno:

Yeah, I agree. It seems like there will be a group of overhyped college players like Adam Morrison who flop badly in the NBA.

This guy from Butler, Gordon whatever, probably will be the next Adam Morrison...:dunno:

The fact that the decision whether to take Peyton Manning or Ryan Leaf was literally down to the wire makes Leaf the biggest bust. People forget just how much promise Ryan Leaf was talked about having. He solidified that biggest bust spot with his burglary arrest, drug charges, and subsequent rehab stint.

It has to even have something to do with all the younger guys coming in too early, I think. There was a bunch of guys who were coming into the league out of high school.

Remember Sebastion Telfair? Had his own DVDs and such and was going to be the next big thing? He's mediocre at best. Hey, which reminds me, what about Kwame whatshisname (Brown?). He was a monumental bust for Jordan's Wizards.

I agree with you both the NBA has become so watered down with talent.Just like I was saying eariler in this thread The Portland Trailblazers had a chance to get Micheal Jordan and chose Sam Bowie now guys just think about that the Trailblazers winning six champions in ten years, anyway that is one of the reason I picked Bowie Jordan changed the game that much but a lot of the Draft that year was centered around Bowie:dunno:I'm just saying.

i cant decide between Bowie, and Olowakandi

the candy man has 3 potential hall of famers picked behind him
bowie has 2, but one is one of the best big men of all time and the other is arguably the greatest player of all time

Akili smith has a row of studs behind him....tough to look past that

only one of the guys behind leaf is a hall of famer in my mind and the jury's still out on russell's class

baseball's always hit or miss at the top....even the top 10 picks only have a 70% chance of making it to the show

i dont know enough about hockey to judge those guys but their fellow draft mates are impressive company

Kimbo Slice is a complete bust....although is MMA even a sport? Probably not.

Speaking of Kimbo being a bust, he was just released by UFC today.

I'm not sure the NBA is watered down. Almost every team has 2 star players. There is a lot of scrubs, but there is a lot of good players too. Either way, I think the NBA could do without a couple teams.

So were alot of other busts.

Very few of the other first overall picks that busted helped drag their team down like him or cost relatively as much as he did. He wasn't just an mediocre underachiever. He wasn't just a bad player. He might have been the worst player in the league over the span of time since he was drafted.

For further reading about some NHL duds, I found a list here. Not surprised I haven't really heard of any of these guys.

Putting Kimbo Slice in a poll like this would kind of be like putting the Shockmaster from WCW in it. Wouldn't make much sense in my opinion.

Note: The Shockmaster was a pretty big dud though.

why? UFC is real unlike pro-wrestling

You guy should learn that there is an entirel world outside of North America. And that the people in this world don't play US sport, don't use the "drafting system".
Just sayin'...

Then citizens of those inferior countries shouldn't come here to bitch about it. Judging by the fact that it's four pages long, I'd say the thread was pretty successful. Why don't you go follow your French football team. I hear they were really successful this year...

I'd say LA acquiring Beckham ten years past his prime would qualify for bust status.
