It's Leaf. All that hype and the guy was a polar opposite. I know that since Russell just got released people want to try and make a comparison. I don't think JR would make a good QB in the league, but given the fact that he went to the Oakland Al Davises, it wasn't all that surprising.

Jamarcus Russell he was just lazy and didnt even care or try he just sat back and collected a fat pay check

I voted Leaf. There's no way a Clipper or a Raider should even be on the list, since both those franchises are notorious for drafting crap. As the earlier poster mentioned, Bowie had his career ruined by injuries, not by lack of talent or character defects.

I voted Ryan Leaf, but how about Tony Mandrich. He was supposed to be an All-Pro for the next 15 years but ended up looking like a bull fighter just letting DE's blow by him on the way to the QB.

It's hard to put any baseball player on the list. There are so many things that can go wrong. A pitcher blows out his arm or never developed another pitch to set up his fastball. A position player never adapts to using a wooden bat or can't hit a big league bender. There is a big difference between High School or even College ball and pro ball, even at the low minors level. A lot of #1 picks never even sniffed the big leagues.

I can understand the Leaf argument totally, but I can't believe that Bowie has not garnered more votes. The man was selected right before the greatest player in that sport's history. Bowie's middle name should have been injury. Jordan just went on to rewrite NBA record books. Oh btw...he won six championships. I'm not even a Jordan fan, but Bowie has to be the biggest bust.

Russell aka Super Bust.He was the #1st pick by the Raiders in the draft of 2007,he spent 3 years now he is released.Because, he was the last to go in training & the first who leaves the training.

Ryan Leaf gets my vote, although Akili Smith and Russell are both very close. Maybe Matt Leinart too.

Glad to see someone sees the same thing I do in regards to Mr. Leinart. I hope I am wrong though.

No way is Leinhart a bust yet. He didn't play great as a rookie, and lost his starting job to a future hall of famer QB who played some of the best football of his career. Who did Jamarcus Russell lose his job to? Bruce Gradkowski? And Ryan Leaf? Jim Harbaugh. :1orglaugh Plus he was selected 10th overall. Even if Leinhart ended up as a backup for the rest of his career, he still isn't anywhere near the bust level of Russell and Leaf.

I can understand the Leaf argument totally, but I can't believe that Bowie has not garnered more votes. The man was selected right before the greatest player in that sport's history. Exactly. They passed on the greatest player of all time. The most recognizable athlete on the planet. Because they needed a big man? Haha. And you would think they would learn their lesson the next time they get a high draft pick. But no. They drafted Greg Oden. He'll be a bust too when Oklahoma is owning the Western Conference and whooping Portlands ass in the playoffs year in year out.

Andre Wadsworth. The guy was a monster defensive linemen at Florida State. Was probably the best prospect going into the 1998 NFL draft, ahead of Ryan Leaf and Peyton Manning.

Chilcott is up there for me. Holy shit was he a disaster.
