Wow. Chili Peppers? White Stripes? Good Charlotte? Blink 182? Insane Clown Posse? Audioslave? These are not bands that I would equate with greatness. They make me wanna

They all suck IMO. Why? Because their sounds are manufactured and marketed. I swear all Chili Peppers songs sound exactly the same. Ever since the fall of Nu-Metal and the explosive 60's revival, originality in most scenes of music has evaporated. Sadly, mainstream music isn't about the sound anymore, its about creating and selling a movement, a scene or a rebellion. Something that didn't need to be manufactured circa 1960.

The only song i've liked so far this millennium is Man of Constant Sorrow. Which made a comeback following the Coen Brothers excellent film "O Brother, Where Art Thou?" I remember singing it for weeks. It even made the top 100 here in Oz.

LOL. check it out: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ifdgrfr0Bkk

Wow, you really need to open your mind (and your ears). There is a lot of great music. Maybe you're just not hearing it because you only listen to one radio station

I don't know what to tell you BBB. I don't know why they wouldn't be on youtube anymore, just about everything I posted are pretty popular videos. I get the links right before I post them, so it's not like they're old or anything. It must be a problem with youtube, I guess. It sucks that they're not playing for you. You're one of the few on this board that likes a lot of the music I do.

songs from my personal favorite albums of this year

Meshuggah - Bleed from the outstanding technical and psychedelic metal album "ObZen"

Portishead - Plastic
from the very long awaited comeback album "third". the album didn't grab me like the first two, but comparing to other bands it's still a brillant work.

Sun Kil Moon - Tonight In Bilbao
Mark Kozelek from the Red House Painters, great as ever. Album: "April".

what happened to sptnkgrl?
