Of course, I'm sure you've all heard of Mark Ronson and his fabulous covers album "Version," with titles such as Valerie with Amy Winehouse, Stop Me and Oh My God, but my favourite is the lesser heard Apply Some Pressure with Maximo Park's Paul Smith:

If you like that, you have to see this with the BBC Orchestra:

Just discovered this awesome performance of QOTSA - Misfit Love from The Henry Rollins show:

I really believe these guys are the greatest hard rock band going right now.

They are very good, but for my choice, I can't really decide who is the best right now, but it would be one from this list of bands:

Slipknot, Seether, Saliva, Three Days Grace, Adema (very underrated I think), Puddle of Mudd, or even Godsmack or Static-X. Becks would undoubtedly go with Disturbed or Godsmack. Some of those bands maybe are more "metal" than "hard rock" though.

I think what QOTSA is missing (at least for me) is having at least one MEGA-HIT defining song that I just go crazy for. The closest to that (again, IMO) would be "Go With the Flow". But yeah, I certainly do like their music and try to keep an eye on their stuff.

I think No One Knows is the hit that most people think of, hell even my girlfriend likes that song and she HATES all of my music :1orglaugh

What I love about them is the fact that even know Josh Homme is the guy behind all the music, he has never repeated a guitar riff, even from his Kyuss days. I dunno how he manages to it. That's really important for me when it comes to music I like. I can't stand it when songs on a certain album all seem to be ripping each other off.

Porcupine Tree - In Abesentia
Opeth - Blackwater Park
Riverside - Second Life Syndrome
Devin Townsend - Terria
Disillusion - Back to Times Of Splendor
Gojira - From Mars To Sirius
Joe Bonamassa - Sloe Gin
Marillion - Marbles
Orphaned Land - Mabool
Sylvan - Posthumous Silence

just to name some very few. you can still find meaningful music these days,
but you have to stop looking for good music in today's mainstream.
some of the bands you folks mentioned make me cringe.
all these charts metal/nu metal/pop-punk band are a complete waste of time.
