Best Guitar Solo

Hard, very hard question!!

Bob Marley - Stir it Up
Smashing Pumpkins- Ava Adore
Jimi Hendrix - Along the Watchtower
Neil Young - Powderfinger or Ramada Inn (I think he plays every possible note a guitar cab play over the course of the song)

A few off the top of my head:)

There are many. Jimi Hendrix, Alvin Lee, Eric Clapton, Duane Allman, Gary Rossington, Frank Zappa, Jeff Beck, Jimmy Page, John McLaughlin, Joe Satriani, or Al Pitrelli, But I'd like to showcase one in particular.

Peter Green, John Mayall's Bluesbreakers, "The Supernatural"

a few good ones.
For those who love a great guitar solo, I think J Mascis is probably the best I've heard.

Terry Kath , probably the most under rated rock guitarist.

Probably still my favorite solo. This and Tangerine.

Dogs. The solo in the middle of Dogs, is an amazing example of his work.

Racing is life... anything else is just waiting.
Mark Knopfler's guitar solo on Sultan's of Swing used to make me wish that I could play the guitar. There was another one on Tunnel of Love that had the same effect on me. Telegraph Road too.

I've got so many (more than I can think of) in my head though. Those are just a couple that stood out. But I loved Knopfler's guitar work, along with so much of Keith Richard's. Easily two of my faves.

Not a long solo or a make your ears bleed Rock solo, but I like the guitar solo in The Commodores' Easy.

No one with Eddie Van Halen's "Eruption?!" :-o

Amazing but it's not really a solo?

Ain't Talkin Bout Love is thee greatest rock wrong of all time in my humble opinion:)

Regarding Eddie Van Halen- Respect The Wind is really just one extended guitar solo, probably one of his most underrated pieces, and one of his best.

Anything by Brian May or Chris DeGarmo gets my vote for, "best of".

On Twitter some guy posed the question, "What is Eric Clapton's best song?" I'm not an Eric Clapton fan so I voted for, "He doesn't have any."

Hat's off to all you Irish natives out there :hatsoff:

Rory's solos were unsurpassed

True bro, true.

Stuck to his principle as all costs, mainly in never releasing a single. Kudos.

Tottoo'd Lady and In Your Town feature 2 great solos.

Always loved the solo in Tunnel of Love towards the end of the track...one of the best from Mark Knopfler and Dire Straits :)

This track is also 40 years old this year and still sounds fresh

Gary Moore. Here he is performing during George Harrison's last concert and on his classic "While My Guitar Gently Weeps" George gives him respect. He is in awe of Gary's playing! (starts at 4:19...)

First thing... if at all possible, connect your computer or device to a quality sound system.

I've seen this clip maybe a half dozen times, and each time I find myself tearing up. I'm like, "what the hell"?
But then, reading through some of the YouTube comments about the song, to my amazement I discover that I'm not alone... other people also had an emotional reaction
to this mesmerizing performance. Guitarist Ulco 🎸Bed absolutely crushes it! The visual of this guy's passion and musicianship (i.e., skill level), combined with the track's
overall sound is undeniably palpable... check it out.
