Thats what I cant stand about these new sports cars, their making them for everyone to drive.
I just find it weird to see a Lambo that is automatic.
Technically,they aren't autos,but they might as well be.Paddle shift is a joke,and is essentially an automatic because,if I'm not mistaken,there isn't a clutch to be pressed.
I really hate it when I see a 40-50 year old woman driving a Corvette that you know is an automatic.Aren't they supposed to be "sports" cars and not just "cruisin'" cars?
It's not really driving unless it's a stick.![]()
Agreed.It's like riding around in a go-cart.
I will say though, even though I love driving stick and wouldn't drive anything else, some cars just don't really need to be stick, like a Hearse or an ice cream truck.
I'll echo the sentiment that another poster had.I believe that every single driver that takes driver's ed should be taught on a manual trans. If a kid isn't good enough to drive stick and fails the course, wouldn't that be better than giving a license to anyone who can just step on the gas pedal and doesn't really know anything else?
Imo,having to control an automobile with all four limbs make you pay more attention to what is actually going on in front of you on the road.It keeps you from being lazy behind the wheel,so you have to maintain your focus not just on what you are doing, but also to what other idiots on the road are doing as well.
I would be willing to bet anything that if it became mandatory that all student that take high school driver's ed be required to learn on a manual transmission car, teen driving accidents would decrease by a sizable amount. But of course the insurance companies would try to find a way to prevent that from ever happening, but that's for another thread I guess.
