Which is a shame because your missing out on so much ... babestation for one. You get in at 3am drunk it's the perfect channel to fall asleep infront of :D

I'm half sarcastic, half truthful there :hatsoff:

Then there's always Sky Sports News maybe the most boring channel on the face of the earth, well this is Sky so I'm sure there are more boring channels somewhere I just havent found them yet.

What's "babystation"?

How can sports news be so boring? Why, do they only talk about soccer?

What's "babystation"?

Basically page 3 on TV, with the added plus of premium rate call in facilities for "phone sex" which is ridiculous on any channel.

It's pretty lame :D

But teenagers without internet access need something to jack off to.....

Yes, thats exactly what they do. Maybe it's just that I'm not a big sports fan

Hey everyone, I thought I'd try starting a thread about the little differences between countries, so wherever you're from, the US, Brazil, Australia, Europe, anywhere, if you're puzzled by our British ways, or words that mean something else, post here and us UK guys will try to help you out. In return I hope to find out a few things myself, such as what is an English Muffin, and why do the Ozzies say "Ute" instead of pickup or truck. So get posting, let's find out about each other! :glugglug: :wave2:

Questions for anyway British.

Does the UK have a decent Jazz music scene?

I absolutely love the accent(Holly Welllin /Alicia Rhodes,etc.. drive me crazy) & would like to perhaps meet a young lady from the UK someday. Besides obviously traveling there , how do you recommend I meet someone from the UK? Any social Websites?Any Clubs for British expatriates in the U.S.?:dunno:

N.O./Baton Rouge La. area.

I'm curious about sports. I know football (soccer to us North American folk) is a big deal, but what else? Do many Brits follow American sports like MLB, NFL, College Football, or NBA. Are sports even a big deal over there? I know they are here. I think we have an inflated sense of importance for our own sports. We think the Super Bowl is a big deal. But do Brits care about that?

No.
College Football?!? For fuck's sake!!
I would say that the 3 most popular sports in UK are football, rugby, cricket.
Others that are popular would include Tennis, Snooker & Darts.

I personally prefer the NHL because I had cousins who played hockey.
So there is a connection there.I also like the NFL as we used to watch
the cheerleaders at the World Bowl. But other than that - that's about it. :)

A couple of years ago,I went to to see the Giants and Athletics game (MLB)
but it got a bit boring after a while. It's a good job you could walk around and
enjoy the sights.

No love for baseball, huh? Wow, what a difference. I probably watch or listen to at least 140 Cubs games a year (thanks to TiVo). And I expected football to be popular, but I would have thought golf would have been ahead of cricket and rugby. Hell, The Open is there - the most important, prestigious tournament of the year. And St. Andrews? That's on my list of places to visit before I die.

I guess it was silly to think Brits would follow our College Football. But if you'd been to "The Big House" (Michigan Stadium) you would see the allure of the sport. The place holds 106,000 people. Even as a fan of the visiting team, I was mesmerized by the place. Personally, I would classify Snooker and Darts as "bar games", but that's just me.

I watch MBL if I get chance. Baseball is a pretty cool sport unlike uber-boring bloody yawnarama cricket...zzz...zzz...zzz:sleep:

I used to watch NFL but it lacks motion for a field sport. Rugby is far better.

NBA... well now there's a sport... NOT. Hate basketball with a passion... stupid lanky freaks...
