That was very cool. Thanks, Supa!

When both were running with Mobil 1 sponsorship, we got a chance to see some great/fun stuff there with Hamilton and Stewart. The original seat swap ("Trading Paint") was Juan Pablo Montoya and Jeff Gordon. I guess that one meant more to me because I could have seen Gordon make it in F1, while Stewart was never in the physical or emotional condition to do so (maybe had the talent, but not the physical conditioning or mental toughness to withstand the F1 pressure cooker and mind-games).

I agree. It astonished me that NASCAR keeps the racing sort of completely analog. The possibilities of using the realtime data in racing are just overwhelmingly positive, I think, but, as you point out, they make it so much more demanding for drivers. Great F1 racers do not only need the feel for handling cars at superhuman levels, as NASCAR drivers are, too... they have to be able to process information and make decisions on the fly, too.

But this event was absolute genius, and both drivers really did great.

With no charges being filed against Kurt Busch (in a domestic battery claim) Nascar has dropped his suspension and he will drive this weekend in Phoenix.

I may take the step into the dark side and actually go to an event. Dover Downs has a weekend in October. Bring a tent or pay to have one set up for me seems better than hotel in so many ways. I'm not a camping guy but to me this isn't camping. Going to find out what 3 day tickets cost. You can even bring your own cooler into the race! Any of you folks ever do Dover or the tent thing at the races?

I find it completely amazing that they suspended Busch in the first place. But with the way things are these days, no, I guess it shouldn't amaze me at all.

I'm not a Harvick fan. So if he begins pulling a lead in the championship standings, I'm going to pay a hooker to say that he slapped her with a wet noodle. Once NASCAR suspends him for a couple of weeks (just have to make sure I have an onion handy so she can instantly cry for the cameras), that should allow the guys I like to catch up with Harvick. :yesyes:

AFAIK, his only crime is that he's a nut and he got hooked up with a nutty woman... who is a "talented" writer of fiction. Sorry to see NASCAR playing the PC/gender politics game. Very unfortunate. But they're all about "the show", more so than real sport.

OK, I'm not a huge NASCAR fan. But every now & again, I see something that makes me :)

Dale Earnhardt Jr. Brings Home Emotional Win At Talladega, Days After The Late Senior’s 64th Birthday

P.S. I became a fan of Dale, Jr's after I found out that his dad had sent condolences to Ayrton Senna da Silva's family after his tragic death in 1994 - and roughly 7 years later, Dale was also killed in action. So for that reason alone, his kid is alright by me. Congrats on a win near your dad's birthday! :hatsoff:

Veteran automotive executive and motorsports director Beth Paretta has announced an ambitious new Verizon IndyCar Series program comprised of an all-female staff for the 100th running of the Indianapolis 500 in 2016.

The brand-new Grace Autosport team will field accomplished IndyCar and sports car Katherine Legge, and surround the Briton with women in every discipline required to forge a competitive motor racing program. In addition to taking on the likes of Team Penske and Chip Ganassi Racing, Paretta's vision for Grace Autosport is heavily rooted in an education initiative.
