Racing is life... anything else is just waiting.
Not the result that I wanted to see, but Lewis and Nico put on a hell of a good show (until Lewis got something in his eye and dropped off the pace). But good for Nico. I've always rather liked him, but I wanted Lewis to win it. :( Also, damn good job by Daniel Riccardo in his Red Bull. He was really hounding Hamilton for 2nd place near the end. Luckily, there's no place to put on a diving pass in Monaco or he probably would have gotten him by the end. Also, odd to see the smiling Australian bettering Vettel so thoroughly - even when Vettel's car is running right. Maybe Seb started believing the press about how great he was too soon. 4 WDC's or not... Seb is not the equal of Senna (or Schumacher or many others). Neither he nor Lewis is as mentally and emotionally strong as Senna was. They're little girls with broken dolls compared to the hardcore, old school guys (IMO). Why? Because Senna never let a teammate consistently better him the way that Riccardo is bettering Seb. I think it might be karma kicking Vettel in the ass for being so arrogant toward Mark Webber the entire time he was Vettel's teammate.

Exciting race though. Just needed more harbor shots and bikini babes on yachts. Can never have too many of those on the Monaco weekend. :yesyes:

How could I forget, Marussia with a points finish?

Ace Bandage

The one and only.
You've named a 1/4 of the field. You only just got there with your last pick!
That was sort of the point. Quite a few drivers had a chance to win. I realistically could have seen any of them ending up in victory lane. This isn't Monaco where you just had to figure out whether it was going to be Rosberg or Hamilton. This was a competitive race. And it was a helluva lot of fun to watch. Of the other guys I picked:

1. Dixon was running 4th when he crashed.
2. Helio finished 2nd.
3. Carpenter and Hinch took each other out while running in the top 5.
4. Power led 22 laps and ran near the front all day. Unfortunately, he still can't master pit speeds. A stop and go penalty cost him a chance to win.
5. Pagenaud had a disappointing day. I expected him to run up front.
6. Kanaan was plagued by battery problems. I think he would have moved up if he didn't lose four laps in the pits.

I was really pulling for Andretti to win the race. He just didn't have the same tenacity that RHR and Helio did down the stretch. He could never make a move on either of them. I really hope he gets a win at some point, but I don't know if it's going to happen.

You got what you wanted.
Yes, I was very pleased that RHR won. He's a great driver, and he'll be a terrific champion.

All day today and tomorrow morning will take place the technical and administrative process known as scrutineering, for all cars and drivers, taking part in the 24 Hours of Le Mans. The tests are conducted jointly by the Federation Internationale de l'Automobile and the Automobile Club de l'Ouest, the respective technicians sharing the tasks.

Richard Westbrook saved the best for last, as the Spirit of Daytona driver claimed a crucial pole position for Saturday’s Chevrolet Sports Car Classic.

Westbrook took his No. 90 Corvette DP to the top spot with less than three minutes on the clock but was beaten by the No. 1 Extreme Speed Motorsports HPD ARX-03b of Ryan Dalziel, who posted a 1:25.029 in the dying stages of the heated 15-minute session.

The GM factory driver, however, found even more speed out of his Coyote-built DP, reeling off a 1:25.011 lap time on his final lap to take the pole back, in the Detroit-based manufacturer’s home race.

Flying Lizard Motorsports will start Saturday’s Chevrolet Sports Car Classic from the top spot in GT Daytona, thanks to a pole-winning run by Spencer Pumpelly today at Belle Isle.

Pumpelly took his No. 45 Audi R8 LMS to a best lap of 1:32.914, in the 15-minute qualifying session, which saw five different manufacturers represented in the top-five in the production-based class.

Looking at that Indy 500 video. That was a ballsy move by Hunter-Reay at t3, with a few to go. I remember when he won on the Gold Coast in 03. I was thinking how shit the CART series must've turned into, for him to have won it. Then he won at Milwaukee, the year or two after. I suppose since then, he's gotten better and better, bit by bit.

Despite all these close finishes at Indy, in recent years. It doesn't feel like it has the same intensity as the 92 finish did.

NHRA? LOL!

Top 5 female racers to do porn? Is there enough to make 5? Most chicks I know are butch. Not including anyone you have mentioned, there was one chick who raced 250cc motorbikes years ago? That big tittied, mature babe Rey,C said he tried to hit on? There's a model, Hayley Swanson. She has done some amateur racing down here. That's all I got.

everybody is on here talking about stupid nascar or open wheel racing.. what about real racing.NHRA

I'm an old school CART fan. I still have an old banner that I took from the Cleveland Grand Prix (The Roar By the Shore) that says: Real Racing. Real Sport. Whatever people like best is "real racing". I like drag racing well enough, whether it's NHRA, IHRA or NOPI. I met Shirley Muldowney at an IHRA race several years ago. That was a huge thrill for me. It's good fun (IMO) but it's very different from circuit racing. And my preference just happens to be F1, and to a lesser extent, sports car racing - especially Le Mans.

top 5 female racers who u would like to see do porn? mine are in no order. Leah Pritchett, Courtney Force, Brittany Force, Erica Enders Stevens, even though not racing now Ashley Force Hood

What happened that Ashley isn't racing? Retired, hurt, having a baby? I didn't know she was out of the game now. When Angelle Sampey retired and The Beer Wagon Wars ended, I kind of lost interest in drag racing. But I used to really cheer for Larry Dixon in the Miller Lite dragster (same company that sponsored the Team Rahal CART entry that my old company backed) and I'm still in love with Angelle Sampey. A pretty girl with a smoking body, family oriented, positive outlook, and who knew her way around the garage - what more could a man like me ask for???!!! In my warped mind, I can see her outside on my riding mower, wearing a halter top and Daisy Duke shorts right now... knocking down that hay field of a lawn that I haven't had time to cut! :hugkiss: See, she's the kind of girl that would do that if it needed to be done (and I was busy) and I wouldn't have to hear any whiny-ass feminist chin music once she got done! Plus, she's a registered nurse. If I got sick or hurt, she'd know what to do to help me! The last guy that she married is a lucky, lucky man, IMO. And the one who beat on her (Savoie?) was a fool.

Hmmm... Milka Duno. Yeah, she does have the body of a porn star - that's for damn sure. But one who has done softcore porn is Belinda Endress. At the track, she claimed to be a hardcore Christian girl - had a team called Godspeed Racing or something like that. That worked out OK til it came out that she had a fetish video production company (at the same address where she said she made Christian recordings) called Steel Kittens, disguised as SK Productions or some such. She was hot back in '99 when I met her at Charlotte's Women's Global GT race. Little did I know back then that I could have offered her a couple of grand and made a video with her dressed like a naughty cheerleader and me spanking her bare ass, while wiggling across my knee. Who knew? :dunno:

She was a cute MILFy type back then.

She tried to play down her past once her alter-ego got exposed and tried break into stock cars/NASCAR lower level. But she was looking a little worse for wear & tear the last time I saw her. I don't know what she's up to now. But she's as close to a racing porn star as I know of.

What? What are you talking about? Have you tried to pick up Milka Duno??? I was talking about the bike drag racer.

Somewhere in my crazy head, I imagined that I would have had a chance with Angelle. OK, maybe like the dog who thinks he could catch the car, I wouldn't have known what to do if she'd taken my dating/marriage jokes seriously. But yeah, I used to flirt with both of them... like every other guy who stood in line for an autograph or saw them in the paddock area. They were cool about it and I wasn't creepy about it, so it was good fun for all.

But seriously, even as a confirmed bachelor, Angelle Sampey really is/was the type of girl who I could marry and be damn happy. Milka? Not so much. Much like my ex-fiancee, she's the type of girl who needs a man who makes mucho dinero and can "support her in the style to which she has become accustomed". She's hooked up with some uber rich CITGO dude. That's how she's gotten so many rides in Grand Am, IRL and other series: he buys them for her with his CITGO influence.

Audi wins the 2014 Le Mans 24 Hour war

2014-le-mans-24-hour-audi-porsche-toyota-0.jpg

For the last decade and a half, Audi has dominated World Endurance Championship racing. It would be easy to dismiss yesterday's 13th Le Mans 24 Hour Race win for the company in 16 years as "same stuff, different year." In that time, it has significantly changed the world's perception of diesel engines, flywheel batteries and hybrid power trains, yet yesterday's win is probably its finest achievement.

With Audi, Porsche, Toyota and maybe Ferrari and Honda (in the near future) devoting tens of millions per year toward LMP, not to mention 300,000 fans in attendance (quite a bit more than attend the Indy 500, according to estimates), Le Mans seems like it's on a new growth spurt. More so than F1, Le Mans seems like the must-have date for the prom these days.

It's just too bad that in America we lost the American Le Mans Series, and all we have left is the dopey Tudor series (which favors the low tech NASCAR Grand Am series cars).
