A question about Socialism/Communism

Communism, Socialism, Capitalism, Marxism, Cubism, Marco Poloism blah blah blah.....

All of those are so boring and overrated. I've come up with my own form of rule that is sure to work. I call it Carrism. Basically, under this new social system all everybody has to do is send sporty_carr (that's me :)) $100 a month and shut the fuck up. Do you all see how well this will work out for everyone? You will all be equal and sporty_carr will become rich. It's a win/win scenario.

Nobody feels threatened by communism. People only feel threatened by "communism".

All "communist" nations took all of the bad and none of the good from the theoretical implementations, and sprinkled in some despotism for flavor.

Your absolutely right....

BUT

American corporate imperialist capitalist supremacy system is no better.......Half the wars you fought weren't about freedom and all that other shit, It was about maintaining your interests usually the interests of the corporate fat cat.

WW2= The Japanese started this cause you had a conflict of interests*. Pearl harbor was allowed to happen you had radar and a shit load of intel(I would draw parallels with sept 11)

The race to Berlin wasn't to save jewish people or to do in evil Adolph Hitler. It was to get there before the real enemy did(Russia) Before this Stalin was begging the US to open another front but they held off for a long time because quite frankly they didn't want to help Russia.(don't quote the aid shit either, That was a stalling tactic cant have the whole thing collapse needed the gerry's to be bogged down while you cleaned up your pacific mess)

Vietnam= Yet again south east asia trading interests and shit, Kennedy loathe as I am to admit it wasn't interested in it for ideological reasons "cornorstone of southeast asia" Domino effect blah blah.

Current shit= Oil

Socialism isn't communism btw its more about social responsibility and incorporating some elements of communism. Communism is way farther down the left on the spectrum.

Alas the west needs to find some third way or else the common working class man will be getting shot the fuck up by charlie and jihad joes(this decade) every time some corporate asses feel their interests threatened.

*Japan had really no choice and partially was america's fault....Long history of mum-fuckery, its easy to see watch last samurai for example.

Seriously WTF are you on? :surprise:

Don't even start about Pearl Harbor that was an attack carried out before their declaration of war was given to us in D.C.

I'm honestly supposed to take your tripe seriously? :1orglaugh

Go away and read a real book on history not some douchebag leftist bs on a blog.

P.S.

Wow.

Just looking at the responses from people who have never obviously lived in a truely oppressive country like Cuba or North Korea really have no idea what the fuck they are talking about. And many of you are fairly uneducated about history and in denial of basic human nature.

See...here's the fucking secret:

A free capitalist society governed by sensible laws that ensure equal opportunity to excel will always be better for human development than a statist government that oppresses human self-interest.

The bigger the government, the worse the citizens.

Just look at Lindsay Lohans jail sentence or Laura Bush getting away with murder to see how equal we really are, $ and power gets you everywhere. Imagine what we'd get if we done the exact same things as they did?

Are you being serious? You can call bullshit if you'd like, but I used to have a good friend who killed somebody in an accidental vehicular homicide. Charges weren't even filed. That friend was no fortunate daughter born into class or politics. If you think that Laura Bush committed murder, than I hate to say this, truly, but that makes you an idiot. I'm giving you the benefit of the doubt, however. I assume this is just reactionary hyperbole. Considering the spouse of the subject in question, I can spot you some slack.

As far as DUIs, I recommend you do a google search. You'll find scores of white trash imbeciles who are convicted of their 30th DUI. What is the fantasy? That 22 year olds do hard time for DUIs? Lohan is doing more time than most. With a deficit of pride, I can reluctantly tell you than, when I was ten, my dad was arrested for DUI after he crashed into a telephone pole. It was not his first offense and his sentence was a suspended license for 90 days. That suspension didn't cover going to work, picking up the kids or grocery shopping.

If you'd like to compare those taken down in the drug war compared to those responsible for violent crimes, I'm game. 100% But that's neither an argument for Communism nor a demonstration of equality among law abiding individuals. It's a moot argument. As well as the ones you provided.

I have some questions for you:

Did you believe your teachers?

What are the virtues of communism / socialism in a modern society?

How many innocent Russians were murdered during the Russian Revolution?
Were those murders justified?

Do you enjoy the freedom to criticize your government?

Did you have a responsible, hard working family supporting father involved in your life from conception to 18 years old?
No, I don't trust teachers. Socialism, in theory, is not inherently evil, believe it or not. Why do you assume that Communism will strip us of our freedom? That's pretty irrational.

and yes i have a father
Seriously WTF are you on? :surprise:
Maybe you should just answer his questions rather than doing the old "you must be on drugs hurhur" thing.

you may say socialism/communism isn't inherintly evil but........ It's been around for quite a while now and no one seems to be able to get it right. whether is doesn't fit with human nature or not is a strong possibility. But when a bunch of self important people think they know whats best for everyone...... it always ends badly.....

Communism is NOT AT ALL an efficient way to go. If everything is already pre-determined for you, then why do anything? If it were around we wouldn't have had any ground breaking inventions....HDTVs, Computers, iPods, just to name a few. In a communist society, there is no drive to push forward, so economies and societies stagnate and create less efficiency

What the tinfoil hat theories that all have one thing in common "US evil".

Gimme a frakkin break.

There are so many who do not even realize the one gift that they have that so many wish for and would die for:

To be a citizen of the United States.

Yet these same people whine and bitch that they lived here. Just be glad you're not living in some 5th world dump where you'd really have something to worry about.

As for the Communist lovers who are too young to remember, know this: Hundreds of thousands of people younger and older than you put their lives on the line fighting against the Communist system in East Europe, China, and the former SU. Artists, poets, actors, politicians, activists, and everyday folks were beaten, jailed, and murdered by their country's Interior Ministry just for denouncing the evils of the Communist system.

Y'know, just because some of us were born at the "end of the Cold War" doesn't mean we don't know anything about Communism. It's not some stupid thing that is only avaliable to people who are 35+.

Living through it and actually being in those countries back then gives one a unique perspective.
I was able to see Communism in the former Yugoslavia, Bulgaria, Hungary and Romania. What I witnessed was a grimy, dirty, paranoid existence.

communism would only work if it happened overnight and the whole world was that way...literally if we woke up tomorrow and the whole world was communist...otherwise you need to go through all the phases and at some point someone always refuses to relinquish power to the people cuz they like being grand poobah

Well, we lost more than 50,000 American lives, and over a million Vietnamese lives, all over the fear of Communism. Add to that the lives lost by both sides--and others--during the Cold War, jockeying one country against another, influencing civil war in another country, and installing a dictatorial regime in yet another. The Korean War, The Yemen conflicts, Ethiopia/Eritria, stuff that's still going on. Now that the Cold War is "over," we have to deal with its aftermath. Oh, and the new threat of radical Islamists. So, to answer your question, it's always something.

This is what I want to know. Evil seems a bit much.

It's not leeching if it's equal.

It is evil to forcibly take from some to give to others. There's no other way to view it. It's state sanctioned robbery. Charity, when given freely, is noble, but when forced it is stealing.

Your second comment, indulge me...define "equal"?

What you don't seem to understand is that if Communism was widely accepted and put into motion, it's not forcibly taking from anyone if everyone is on board. Obviously, nobody would ever be on board because the US is a collective of spoiled brats with a false sense of entitlement.

Equal is a pretty simple concept, dude.

Racing is life... anything else is just waiting.
What you may not realise is that america is actually a Socialist state... it's just a big conspiracy to keep it a secret from the masses...

I have to give you a  and some rep. I think you've come close to hitting the bullseye.

If you take a word which has a stigma attached to it, and one where many (most?) people don't know the correct definition, they tend to ignore the obvious examples which would show them that what they believe is not true actually is.

We have many socialist programs in the U.S.: the public school system, Social Security, Medicare, Medicaid, the VA, etc. And we have NEVER had a pure (laissez faire) capitalist economic system in this country. Not in the 1800's and not now. Just like there has never been a pure communist country, AFAIK.

IMO, the trick to a successful, prosperous nation is finding that fine balance between capitalism and socialism. You can't have people starving in the streets when capitalism fails (and it does). But at the same time, you can't have perfectly healthy people sitting at home waiting for a check when they could be working (and they will).

As for communism (as a governmental system) one of my econ professors said it best, IMO: "pure communism is the best governmental system that there ever could be... if not for human nature." Some people will inevitably take advantage of a system that rewards those who contribute little... even if they COULD contribute more. And it's less likely that someone will be motivated to contribute more or create/build something extraordinary if the reward goes to the state.

Edit: The system won't let me rep you yet. I owe ya one.
