A Note to the Boston Red Sox

Stop it. I for one have had enough of you guys. I rooted for you in 2004, you broke the curse, the country and parts of the world celebrated, and life was good.

Now the time has come to knock it the fuck off. I am a huge Rockies fan, and have been for years. To see my boys embarrassed and humiliated at the hands of the Fenway Park Monsters was bad enough, and even a year passing has done little to ease the sting.

But to see the Angels fall the way they did, to see you bastards do it AGAIN, and reach the ALCS, well, I didn't want to do this, but now I have to. You have left me no choice. You could not, nay, WOULD not go quietly like the Yankees, and disappear for a few years. Now, I have to do this.

I CURSE the Boston Red Sox. My angry hex has been launched, and the black cloud is heading towards Beantown as I write this. You will now swing at pitches in the dirt, every throw will be too high, or too low, you will forget what all the signs mean, and you will feel very fatigued from now until the end of October.

I'm sorry. *thinks about that for a minute*

Actually I am not. Seriously. Go home.

Damn it. Why couldn't the Cubs have won it all this year?

Here's a scenario you'd probably enjoy: Top of the ninth inning, game 7 of the world series, Fenway, Sox leading 2 to 1, bases loaded, two out, full count, chowda heads all standing and cheering....and Manny hits a 500 foot grand slam for the Dodgers :D

^^^ No no no, replace Manny with Alameda's own "J-Roll, Jimmy Rollins" hitting a game winning triple. But seriously you gotta really be hating on all of the Boston area during the past year. Lets see the Rays or Phils win it all. Duck the Fodgers.

Yeah I was standing in my kitchen last night eating a bowl of cereal when it hit me about the fact that Manny could be facing off against his former team......would be the first time in my life I would root for Manny!

I am in the same boat. I cheered for the Sox in 2004...I was glad to see them break the curse. It proved to me as a Cubs fan that there is no such thing as a curse. After this year, I still have to wonder about the curse.

The good news is that I am also a die-hard Rays fan and have been following them since their inception. I was at the Trop when they beat the Twins to clinch their first playoff spot and was also at Game 1.

Yeah, our fans may be a little odd with the cowbells and mohawks, but at least we have an identity. I can't think of a better team to face in the ALCS than the Red Sox. We took care of the Pale Hose and now we will beat the Red Sux.

A new leader in the AL East has emerged and this is our chance to prove it to the rest of the world. I love seeing the team with the 44 million dollar payroll beat up the most expensive division in baseball. It just goes to show you that fundamentals, team chemistry, and a good manager can produce some amazing results.

For the love of God, and all that is good, PLEASE, do whatever you have to to make sure your Rays send the Bean Eaters crying all the way back to their filthy hovel of a city they call home.

This Rockies fan sends you nothing but good mojo and good charms your and your city's way.

GO RAYS!!!!

Its funny, a few months ago I was reflecting on last year's playoffs and who won. I first thought Colorado, then I had to look it up online and remember that they didnt win, the Red Sox's did.

I agree, go home you bean town bastards. Angels should of one it.

the cubs curse is worse than their's ever was (1908 compared to 1918) +no fan of broadway?.............chicago politics i guess?

I agree, but with the Cubs, it's just so sad. Lately, they have come so close, and then.........nothing. I love the Cubs, as where I live, before we had baseball here, we got every Cubs game on a local station. So I can recall many a lazy summer afternoon learning the fine points of the game watching the Cubbies at Wrigley Field. They will always have a soft spot in my heart. So when I think of them now, it's just frustrating and sad.

Quite the opposite of the Fuckin' Sox. I hate them. I really do. I don't use that word often, because it is such a powerful word, but come on, what do we have to do to hand Francona a friggin' loss once in a while? It's like since they won, no one else has a chance!

This is why, and I will probably take a lot of flack here, but this is why that I have been listening to, and agreeing with, a salary cap in baseball. I think it may not be such a bad idea.

GO RAYS!!!!

I can't understand all the hatred for the Red Sox, when the Yankees did the very same thing much more effectively for much longer. Is there really any evidence of a Yankees type of dynasty developing here? Dozens of championships over many decades? The Red Sox sucked for so long, let them have their time in the sun.

I hate them for what they did to my team last year. It felt personal, and I will not and cannot let that go. It was like watching the neighborhood bully beat the crap out of your little brother, bitch slap your mom, push your Grandma over, and then key your car as he walked away, and there was nothing that you could do about it.

THAT'S why I hate the Red Sox.

Personally I hate Boston/ New England because every year the Pats eliminate my Chargers out of the playoffs.

But thats another story.

I understand bro. I just hate the Yanks soooo much (and therefore kinda like the Red Sox) that I had to make the comparison. I root for the Red Sox sometimes because I know it will destroy the Yankee fans to see them win. ;) To tell you the truth, I agree with you about a possible salary cap, despite being a fan of the Mets, one of the "richer" teams.
