A jump from near space.

As I type this, Felix Baumgartner is nearing a historic jump, skydiving from 120,000 feet - a record, plus he will be breaking the speed of sound at his fall.

Yeah...were it myself, the only thing ground control would have heard was uncontrollable sobbing. And that would have been for my test three foot jump.

Colonel Kittinger was his mentor and at mission control, talking with him through the entire event.
I'm still in awe, Baumgartner broke quite a few records!! Not all they had anticipated (and of course they are still analyzing the data) but still - a great success!

I've changed my mind.
I remembered about The Right Stuff. Yearger was just a crazy guy and his accomplishments were useless. But without Yeager, Armstrong would have never walked on the moon.
