9 Year Old Hangs Self And Commits Suicide At School...

The mileage varies slightly.. working on 250,000 accident free on my job.

When I say we know nothing about the situation, I mean to say we know nothing about why this child committed suicide. As humans we try to understand others, yet we will never know the depths of another man no matter how hard we try. That's all really - in his mind is the only truth that matters to him. It's hard to tell someone otherwise.

I don't find death funny, regardless of how people die. I find it inevitable.

True enough. So I'd say that you saw this topic, made an off the cuff remark in a lame attempt to get a laugh and here we are... Close enough for gubment work?

At least some of you enjoyed the attempt to make a joke about a movie and situation like this.. some of you however need to lighten up and not take the internet so seriously.

My uncle committed suicide. Did a bunch of blow and then hung himself from a tree in his backyard for his wife and kids to find the next morning. I've had shit like this happen to me, albeit not my child but a very close relative. I just accept death as a consequence of life.. maybe this is why my joke seems funny to those of us who don't fear what comes next.

Clearly a 9 year old understands that if he ties something around his neck he will stop breathing. He knew the repercussion and bottom line of his actions. Who are we to say this is tragic? We know nothing about the situation.

Your uncle was a grown adult on blow. This is a 9 year old child. It is not normal at that age to commit suicide. Something was not right in his life for him to hang himself. I have no idea why he did it. I do however know it is tragic. :2 cents:

You post something. People reply. They may not agree with what you post. You may not agree with their replies. Kinda how it works, no? The internet, with its anonymity, does give a glimpse into how some people's minds work though. ;)

Knowing what comes next has nothing to do with why I thought your "joke" was dumber than dog hair. And though I don't fear death, I don't find it "funny" when a child kills himself. When a child predator murders a kid, do you get your jollies making jokes about that too? I mean, that's the cycle of life too, right?

You state (as fact?) that he "knew the repercussions and bottom line of his actions". And then you go on to say that we know nothing about the situation. Well, you got one right. The only thing I'm going to assume is that this kid had something going on in his life that was so bad (in his mind) that he wanted to stop living. That is not normal. When a 9 year old gets to that point, yeah, in my world (where the sky is blue and the sun rises in the east), that is tragic. Your mileage may vary...

Good to know this forum isnt entirely full of idiots. Rep
