300

I am amazed at how many people liked this movie. I saw it opening night and was very impressed by the action scenes but was bored out of my mind by the lack of plot the movie had. This movie didn't even resemble sin city and didn't need to be as long as it was.

I have seen it twice once in a regular movie theater and the other on IMAX. IMAX was the best.

MrPink You are correct sir See this in Imax it is awesome, My only complaint is when I got back from the restroom I spilled my $12 long island ice tea damn that sucked.

I'll give it a 9.5 out of ten, it loses half a point cuz i never wanted it to end.

Entertaining to say the least, over dramatic as well. Could we have just one speech where the king wasn't shouting......?? Still some of the quotes were great and there was a ton of action.

Ending was soft, and as already documented, not at all accurate.

But not to end on a sour note, if it is entertainment you are looking for, then entertainment you shall receive as it was non stop action the whole way through.

I thought the scene with the wolf in the beginning was brilliant

‘300' makes easy conquest of weekend box office with $70 million; 2007's first blockbuster

Good stuff

I try to stay away from movies "based on a true story", simply because while the story the film is based on may be true, whatever story the film is trying to tell is about as far from the truth as it could possibly be.

I don't know if that is the case with 300, but chances are it is. That, and I already know how it ends.

Its actually based on Frank Millers graphic novel. (comic book :lol) You should check it out.

Man, this movie was so awesome!

It was like Braveheart meets sin city meets Gladiator meets the matrix meets every other cool movie!

Everyone should go and see it!

So what? a good movie is a good movie. It's all about how entertaining it is, not how true the story is.

If you want a history lesson, go to your library and read about the actual battle. Then once you can't handle anymore yawning because your jaw hurts too much, go to the cinema and see the movie...
:2 cents:

Yea, the movie isn't entirely accurate - but oh well. It entertainment, not a history lesson. The movie put the key historical points in, but left out stuff too. Oh well, all i care about it the action!

At least in this case the movie isn't pretending to be completely accurate so you know what you’re getting into when you go and see it.

this movie is not about the destination, but the ride.

and it is a hell of a ride!

It's kind of like Rambo.. I mean yeah vietnam really happened and as far as all the rest of the stuff goes.. well it might not be 100% true, but it could be.

Eh, it was alright.

I liked the all computer generated backgrounds, I liked the Queen, and I liked all the blood. My kind of movie. But the nerdy genius guy from Van Helsing is all ripped and one of the great spartan warriors in this thing? Huh? I just couldn't get past that part.
