'Bama hasn't played a very good offence all year. You can keep telling yourself about what a great defense that you have but where is the proof? Remember when they were supposed to have to much speed for Ohio State last year? I have been watching St. Nick a lot longer then you so trust me. When the playing field is even, he's just an average coach. Dantonio has over three weeks to game plan. Cook's shoulder will be better and the O-line will be healthier than it's been all season. Don't tell me how tough the SEC is because this year there were at least two if not three conferences that were better this year. The Big Ten was one of them.

Question: How does a 5 and 7 Nebraska team get to play in a bowl game? :wtf:
And even worse, how is it they aren't playing a team with a 6 and 6 record, but instead get matched with an 8 and 4 team that ended up in a tie for the 4th highest winning percentage in the Pac 12?

Never mind, I know the answer. It's a good example of how screwed up some of these bowl affiliations are - to the point where a team with a losing record gets to participate - and a team with a solid record gets rewarded (not) with a completely uninspiring matchup.

I see a good old fashioned midwestern slobberknocker for the Title.

I'll be interesting to see. Get out the boxing gloves, smoknn and red wing :D
Alabama is 1 and 0 vs the Big 10 this year. They easily handled Wisconsin (9-3), who's other 2 losses were very narrow ones to Northwestern and Iowa.

A bunch of SEC teams are capable of playing high powered offense. It's just that the SEC has a better balance of offense/defense than any other conference, so you don't so often see the kind of pinball machine scores you see in the Big 12, for instance.

The SEC East wasn't up to par, but to me the SEC west was still the toughest division in the nation, with all six teams being bowl eligible despite taking turns beating on each other. I could be wrong, but I don't think any other major conference division can claim having no sub .500 teams.

Disclaimer: I am not some slavering SEC fan. I'm a PAC 12 fan who's just trying to be objective.

Redwing i believe some SEC kid took your lunch money lol j/k but here is what we have. the SEC had a dog fight and in January you have the one eyed hopping bulldog that happen to come out on top this year. lets rewind a couple weeks. remember when South Carolina had Clemson sucking air?? SC has been the punching bag in the SEC this year. Bodie said the key word...BALANCE. you dont become SEC champs unless you have balance = you are pretty dang good on both sides of the ball. and usually have a defense that will knock your socks off and a running back better than average. what team does that sound like?

Just looked at the bowl matchups and odds.
Damn there are a lot of really difficult games to handicap this year
I do have two stone cold locks picked out, though :D

Opening lines for the final four:
Oklahoma -4 vs Clemson
Alabama -10 vs Michigan State

You and me are probably the only objective ones considering the back & forth going on.

Of the 4 teams in the playoffs, I would give 3 of them a chance to win it all. Sorry, but Clemson has been playing above their heads and getting lucky.

I seem to be the only one who realizes that Bama's much-hyped defense has some holes in their secondary. The question is whether Dantonio's offensive line can protect their quarterback long enough to exploit those holes. If not, their in for a heap of trouble.

Plus, Dantonio needs to take a lesson from Bob Stoops. I'm certainly no Bob Stoops fan, but the 2014 Sugar Bowl was Bob at his best. Oklahoma had no business being in that game, but Stoops realized what I've said for years, Saban cannot defend a hurry-up offense, so Stoops came up with a plan to exploit Saban's weakness. Notrice how I said Saban's weakness, not Bama's weakness. Anyhow, the Bama-MSU game should be a good one. As for Clemson & Okie, unless Stoops starts channeling Les Miles and has a massive brain fart, I see Oklahoma taking Clemson and just stomping their dick into the dirt.

there you go Redwing...mich st + 10 how could you lose??

Connor I need your advice.
Auburn versus Memphis. Who wins it?

Will Auburn and it's fan base be up for this game, or will it be considered kind of a ho hummer?

Coming into the season, I knew Auburn was overrated, but things turned out far worse than I could have imagined.

I knew the defense wasn't that good, but I figured Muschamp could whip 'em into shape.

I was concerned with the quarterback situation, but it turned out to be worse than anticipated.

As for Memphis, they had a respectable season (albeit in the AAC). They only lost 3 games; Navy, Temple and Houston, which were a combined 31-6, and I still don't see how they lost to Houston. Memphis had that game in the bag and they just fell apart.

Most of the betting lines have Auburn as a very slim favorite, but at 6-6, most of the Auburn players probably don't give a shit about this game.

The only real advantage I see is the location. Auburn used to play some of their home games at Legion Field, and the annual Iron Bowl was played there until Pat Dye managed to get it moved to Jordan-Hare when they were the home team. At first glance, I figured Auburn to lose this one, but Malzahn will probably try to use this game and location as a recruiting tool with players in the Birmingham schools, so I figure Auburn will eke out an ugly win.

i decided Memphis had the best QB in the NCAA...then they lost 2 games.....i think they on dope!....(baby)

Ok thanks for the comprehensive analysis, Connor.
This is one of those Bowl Challenge games I'm about at the point of flipping a coin over.

i got to go against my SEC guys on this one. i only seen Memphis play like twice this year. that QB when he has got it on has the best eye and aim in the league that i have seen. apparently he works best in the comfort zone....if you give him time to stand in the pocket and fond a open man he will kill you....if you move him around his % goes way down. if Auburn moves him around they may win. but i think that is the key

Did Auburn's defense play a truly great game today, or is Lynch just overrated?

He did not look like a first round NFL pick in that game. Even if he leaves and does go in the first round, that one game cost him a ton of contract money. 16 of 37 for 106 yards is just horrible.

Clemson. If it wasn't going to be hard enough, 3 players get suspended to what ESPN says are failed drug tests. What I find funny though is Dabo Sweeney saying this won't distract his team. The only distraction is him having to sit in front of reporters and answer their questions. Hilarious.

I'm thinking Clemson is THAT good. :yesyes:

Call me crazy (and yes I'm posting this for posterity), but I think Sparty +10 is a stone lock. ;)

I didn't think Clemson have any chance against Oklahoma, but if Bama wins, Clemson will probably be the favorite in the "Natty" as Dabo calls it. Clemson runs the type of offense that is Saban's kryptonite.

Well, I could make a lot of excuses. But the fact is, it's a fucking embarrassment. :brick:
