Missouri's only favored by 10 1/2 in that game ????

Yeah, and for good reason since they couldn't cover I guess. Mizzou overrated this year I'm afraid, Arkansas State underrated. They have some talent on that team.

let me start out by saying...Auburn playing jacks st in a close one is not as shameful as it may seem. i can throw a rock and just about hit Jacksonville st. hard not to pay attention. seems like they been getting a little tougher every year. they only have 1 bus i think...but they getting like boise st was for a few years....they wont go away. what i find shameful is baylor giving up 24 points (so far) to lamar? no place in the top 10 for a team that gives up 24 points to lamar. not to mention tcu barely getting by Minnesota last week

Yes it is, they are an FCS program.

Now as far as the game of the day, that was just two very good teams trading haymakers. Sparty was just better on fourth downs.

Maybe, but they got buried by USC 55 to 6 a week ago.

I didn't get to see any of this game except the last two minutes, so I can't comment on who I thought was the better team. As I understand it Oregon's brand new and very raw QB made some critical mistakes, including the one I did see...missing a wide open receiver for a game winning TD with a minute left.
Oh well, I didn't have high hopes for the Ducks this year anyway.

I'll tell you one thing, the kid is tough. In the second half his finger was clearly bothering him but he hung in there and made some pretty big throws. It was kind of funny seeing the Ducks having 13 and 14 play drives then watching Sparty come down and score on three plays. The one thing Sparty needs to address is Special Teams coverage.

Auburn drops from 6 to 18, in two weeks they will drop out of the top 25. Sparty moves up a spot and takes a couple of first place votes away from Ohio St.

Hiring one of Tim Beckmans greaseballs to coach their O-line probably wasn't the smartest move for them.

Wasn't that game played in LA? Besides, USC is way better than Mizzou....at least so far. Anyway, if you watched the game, it is obvious that A-State has some serious talent at some of the skill positions and it showed in the game on Saturday. College football is way too volatile to make a whole lot out of any result (witness Toledo vs. Arkansas). That's one reason I love it so much!

this just in...me and Bodie is NOT taking Tennessee i dont care if they playing bamas cheerleaders.

I was listening to the College Sports station on Sirius this morning and they raised a really interesting point.

Over the last few years, a number of the "historic" football programs have fallen on hard times, or even worse. Tennessee, Michigan, Notre Dame, and so on. All of them had one thing in common, they dropped Nike and went to Adidas (except Notre Dame, they went to Under Amour) . They also noted the players complained long & loud that they hated the shoes, but they were ignored. However, things changed when the coaches noticed something. When they were on the recruiting trail, the first question many recruits were asking is, "Who is supplying the games shoes?". These teams finally dropped Adidas and went back to Nike when a lot those recruits said they didn't want to play for a team that used Adidas. Hmmm...

NOTE: UCLA, Nebraska, Texas A&M and Wisconsin still use Adidas

What kind of hateful woman schedules her wedding on a football Saturday? My niece, that's who. But it's Iowa vs Pitt so I won't be missing much and I do love my family. So it's kind of a wash.

That's why the DVR was invented! Just stay away from anything that would give the score away (which can be a challenge all its own).

It's not often I do a triple take when I see a game line, but I did when I saw this one ....

BYU +17 at UCLA

Of course I realize only too well that when a line looks too good to be true it usually is ...but damn this one might be hard for me to back away from.

I figured UCLA would be favored by from 3 to 7 points here. Yes BYU has some issues with their secondary, which perhaps UCLA's kid quarterback will heavily exploit. But it's not like he had an epic game against UNLV. BYU's freshman QB (who's probably pushing 23, like so many BYU freshman lol) has shown flashes of being a double threat running and passing. BYU"s a hard nosed team coming off two really hard fought wins. UCLA hasn't faced a lot of adversity yet, although it's encouraging that their first opponent Virginia nearly came back to beat Notre Dame in week two.

I think what I'll end up doing here is keeping my bet small, just because this looks like a gimme to me, and whenever I feel that way it's most often I'm wrong lol

tenn was dragging their wagon in the 4th qtr. they couldnt pick their feet up. has anyone told that coach the game is 4 qtrs not 2? and them shoes.....do they not have any scouts that come to Freeones ? lol

Mizzou's ridiculous offensive performance today against Connecticut only illustrates just how unreliable Maty Mauk is as a QB. Thank God our defense is playing lights out but we should have beaten the Huskies by at least 2 touchdowns, probably more. The fact that we just squeaked by (again, all praise to the defense) shows just how overrated this team may be this season. They will start playing some real conference competition now so we'll see how they react. I'm beginning to join the rising chorus who believes that Drew Lock should be starting. Mauk just doesn't make good decisions.

Also, Miami putting a whipping on the Huskers so far! I am impressed with Kaaya and the defense. We look solid and although I realize that Nebraska isn't the powerhouse they used to be, it's still a big out-of-conference challenge for UM so I'm liking how this team is developing. Al Golden is under serious heat in the media so anything less than a divisional title might mean the end of his tenure. We'll see how things roll from here but today we have looked very good.

As for Texas....well, stay tuned. I'm scared shitless against a potent California team to be honest. The 'Horns haven't showed much on either side of the ball so far this year so this should be a good barometer as to where we really are in week three. Charlie Strong must be sweating bullets.

I should have shut my fucking mouth. Even though we won in OT, Golden's mismanagement of the game in the last 8 minutes of the 4th quarter allowed Nebraska to score 23 fucking points to tie the game. I know it's a win but it sure doesn't feel like one. Why did we keep throwing the ball when we had a commanding lead? Kill the fucking clock for chrissakes!! Football 101....what the hell was Golden thinking???

Al Golden is on very thin ice in South Florida. We aren't used to losing down here (there actually since I live in Houston). My God....
