2011 NFL Draft

I know it's happening this Thursday, but does anybody know what will happen with the players drafted? As far as I know, they can't sign or practice. Am I mid informed? It's a confusing situation. Enlighten me.

You are correct. So rookies will be picked as usual. They’ll do a little press, and then they will have no contact with their team until the CBA is reached. The bigger issue is how much they will get paid once the new CBA is reached.

So what happens if a new CBA isn't reached? Are players still eligible for their university? Nobody wants a player who hasn't played, practiced or trained for over a year.

Eventually a new CBA will be reached. The whole thing is now being played out in the courts and just yesterday the judge ruled in favor of the players thus in theory ending the lockout.

If there's no NFL the Packers will be the first to win the superbowl and the last

I'm hearing news that my Broncos are going to take Von Miller.

My heart says take Von Miller, but my brain tells me Marcell Dareus is the better fit.

Technically the lock out is over. But the players can't work out at the team facilities right now. The owners don't want to be held liable if a player should get hurt while there is no CBA. The CBA isn't just about paying the players. It is about all the legal issues that can come up between the owners and the players.

As for underclassmen that have declared for the draft, they can not go back the their colleges to play, because in the eyes of the NCAA they are now professionals.

And yes there will be a season, because there is too much money at stake. But that season my also be next year instead of this one.

I would be surprised if the lockout isn't continued in some way in the near future while the appeals are worked out.

Usually I have more sympathy for the players in issues like this, but some of the shady things the union (or de facto union under the thin guise of a non-union because of decertification to circumvent labor laws.) have me soured on both sides.

I think the Detroit Lions are trying to build the greatest DL of all-time.

Seriously. Fairely and Suh? That's fucking ridiculous. Not to mention Vanden Bosch and Williams. Scary good. How the hell does Fairely drop to 13??? And what's with all the QB's going in the first round?? At least my 9ers got a pass rusher. Hopefully...:(
