2011-12 Football Season Thread.

Oops, I thought this was the NFL thread :shy: turns around and walks out

Lucky I noticed this thread as I was gonna start one of my own, once again Spurs are proving an embarassment in the transfer market, not buying anyone or failing to shift any of the dead wood at the club (just sell Modric already!), at least we'll beat Hearts tonight though!

I think Spurs should let Hearts win by a single goal, then everyone is
happy :1orglaugh

As for Modric,I've never really rated him as being fantastic. So it wouldn't
be such a bad thing for Spurs to let him go.Especially if they were getting
a shitload of money for him.

It just goes to show how missing out on a Champions League spot can seriously
fuck you up.

That is Celtic out, we can never play in big games, knocked out last year at this stage too
:(
I hope Hearts win tonight though, maybe if Tottenham play reserves

All the scottish teams are out.
ridiculous, given both Celtic and Rangers have been to the final.

Celtic might get a look in as FC Sion had a dodgy player or two playing
for them, when they shouldn't have been.I think UEFA are going to say
okey or dokey on Tuesday. But even at that, getting stuck with Atletico
Madrid,Udinese and Rennes.Maybe being out of Europe this year might
get them back the SPL title. :)

But again another great draw, and plenty of decent games to watch over
the winter :D

Celtic have got a chance of getting back in but i doubt it.
Fifa are really corrupt so i imagine they will just let them off with it.

Then again Fenerbache were pulled out of europe this season, so sion might have the same fate for playing like 5 players that they were told could not play.

I heavily doubt it though.

It was a special weekend in the EPL today,as both Manchester teams
thrashed their London opponents into submission.

A couple of weeks ago Spurs hammered Hearts 5-0,and then they get
hammered at home 5-1 to Man City. Then Man Utd hump the Goons 8-2.

Surely this isn't going to happen every week. :1orglaugh

Can it be possible for Chelsea or Liverpool throw a spanner in the works :dunno:

Man. United vs Arsenal was great to watch. Rooney played marvelous, great freekicks.
Should this be the last days of Arsenal manager Wenger?

It was scary to see Chelsea's Drogba going down for a couple of minutes.

The Premier League was fun to watch this weekend.

Arteta and Benayoun are good to replace Fabregas, two good influential midfield players, plus Mertesacker is a good centre back, and his height is what you want for aerial balls

Anyone follow Dutch football, how will Ajax fair this season?

I don't follow the Eredivisie and i have only ever seen a dutch ream once i think , when celtic played Utrecht last season.
As i said, i don't follow football in Holland but Ajax IMO, are not what they used to be a few years ago, they did win the Eredivisie last season though so they might be getting better. There champions league group is pretty dificult though with Inter and Lyon involved.
They used to have such notable players though, and they were a team that everyone knew, They are ranked 36th in europe though according to uefa

I'm going to use this to vent my anger at today's Scotland game.

The ref was a complete wank.

That penalty at the end should have been given, i mean it would have been harsh on the Czech Republic if it had been 2-1 at that stage but since he had given a penalty at the other end a minute earlier, which they scored.

It was ridiculous, he had a clear view and the player was clearly clipped, the Czech Republic could have lost as well and still have had a chance to get a play off place, we needed to win and now we have no chance of going through.

The ref was such a fucking dick
