I can't believe Ronnie Wood kicked his girl out. What a dick!

EDIT: Sees Ronnie's new 30 year old Brazilian girlfriend... good job old boy! :hatsoff:

Two great goals in a day. Amazing job by Donovan and Özil.

If that stupid refree didn't steal the winning goal of USA against Slovenia, USA wouldn't play that stressed. They deserve quarter finals.
Mesut Özil! Great performance from the first game of Germany. I am very glad that he didn't choose Turkish national team. If he did, we wouldn't have this star in this cup.

England will go to void. What a lousy play. Germany will crash them. Quarter final will be US Soccer - Germany.

damn South America is so bad ass. every group a south american team is in the leader of that group is a south american team. argentina and uruguay are kicking butt and taking names. unfortunately the Hondurans aren't doing so hot and they are one of my teams :( oh well on the bright side usa is playing good

but still.........rah! Seleção!

One of my sleepers was Uruguay. If Luis Suarez ain't playing for a big club in Italy, Spain, or England next year, I'll be shocked. And if Diego Forlan were 4 years younger, he would be moving on to one of the elite clubs. My other sleeper, Cote d'Ivoire, ain't doing so hot though....

you could not top this. It is stranger than fiction. Hollywood couldn't write a better script than this... - Ian Darke, ESPN play-by-play announcer.

They just replayed the game two minutes ago.

I know I might catch alot of flack for this, but I think that it is possible for the U.S. to make it to the finals. The U.S. won their group so they will have an easier road than the English will. Now I'm not predicting that the U.S. will actually make it to the finals. All I am saying is that it is possible for them to do it. They will face Ghana on Saturday and while I think that could be a tough match just because Ghana is the last African team to advance and they will have a big time home advantage, Ghana is a beatable team. They then will play the winner of the Uruguay/South Korea match and while both these two teams are very good, organized squads that can threaten, again these are beatable teams. On to the final four, I see the U.S. possibly playing against either the Dutch or the Brazilians. Now the U.S. played Brazil in the Confederations Cup and played pretty well might I add despite the loss. The Dutch would be a tough game but the U.S. plays very good whenever they are the underdogs so I could see them pulling off an upset against the Dutch.

After sleeping over it, with replaying Oezil's hammergoal, I am very glad we reached the eight final. One major thing about our German team is that we are very very young. On one hand it can get very bad because they lack of experience. But on the other hand the team can only learn about it. If we can build up on that than this would be a little win, too.

Oezil was clearly the man of the game, followed by Lahm, or second goal keeper :D
Too bad that Poldi didn't show up most of the time. Cacau may be a good replacement for Klose but I guess he won't play from the beginning again after Klose returns.

Even now I have mixed feelings about it. Can we really beat England? Ghana was very dangerous yesterday and on sunday we need an Alpha Dog, like Ballack or Kahn in the past

There have been big wins over bigger opponents recently...Spain, Mexico come to mind. Being 2 up on Brazil comes to mind (though we lost that one).
Other big wins:
2002 World Cup, U.S. beat Portugal 3-2.
1994 World Cup, U.S. beat Colombia 2-1...ok, so a Colombian player scored an own goal and was murdered upon his return home. :(
As for Mexico, the U.S. has been beating them a lot lately. Since 2000: 9 wins, 2 losses, 1 draw.

Man, next game is gonna be a cracker! England vs. Germany! I hope we blast them away!

Yeah, Lahm was like a second keeper yesterday. The calm in person. But also Neuer has played a great game, he's the legitimate No. 1! Keep your fingers crossed for Schweinsteiger, he must play against England.

I'm not sure if I would choose Cacau or Klose. But I think we need a strong man for the headers and Klose will be the best for this!

Can't wait for Sunday!!!

Thx Özil !!:hatsoff::hatsoff: But crash down the UK ?? I would be careful, cause this is always kind of a *different* match ... They´ll fight like a beast, ours hopefully too. And the US is a lot better as expected, but they did´nt beat Ghana yet ...who´s not the worst soccer-team at all.

Dom and saschaxx, Klinsmann has been doing analysis here in the U.S. for the television networks. And I am sure he's being paid handsomely. Just curious though, did he leave the German national team on good terms after he was their coach? He seems like a soft-spoken person.

I think we already have our new Alpha-Dog, his name is NEUER ! Our keeper was *perfect* yesterday. And Özil really knows now : * oooopps, I can shoot goals by myself ....*:D

Rough times will come towards us on Sunday, but let´s face em ....:glugglug:

I think he left on his own will, couldn't believe there was bad blood back then. You should leave when the time is right, and that's what he did. Too bad, because I still like him very much. Hopefully he continues as an expert on German television.

For the England game: Why not try Poldi - Klose - Cacau?
Ok, it's too late for tryouts, but it would be a good alternative. Löw surprisingly substituted Kroos and Trochowski yesterday, so he is still in a mood for experiments.

Uruguay will wipe the floor with the USA , should they meet and Ghana will be too strong for them as well , lets have a look at this realisticly the teams you have played so far

England - As much as it pains me too say , we are not as good as we like to think , actually we are pretty poor

Algeria - They are shit and the USA struggled to beat them

Slovenia - Aren't that good a team and the USA didnt beat them

Also dont read too much into the confed cup performances , these arent real trophies , yes its nice to win but in the big picture it counts for nothing and most European and Sth.American countries realise this , so they take it easy and dont really get out of 3rd gear

At world cups European teams are usually slow starters and come good when it matters , S.American teams always start well and are usually consistant throughout the tournaments

I think the Quarters are at best is all the USA can acheive which is still a great result for the USA , I think Uruguay or S.Korea will be too good for the USA if they can get by Ghana

But good luck and all the best , I would like the USA to do well for the way they have approached this tournament and the team and the fans seem to be enjoying it and they have been good to watch :hatsoff:
