Robinson for that state up North has been the most impressive player I have seen this year. Last year whenever he came in, I loved it because you knew he couldn’t throw. This year he can throw.

I'm getting more impressed with DR. I was a Tate guy but I can't deny DR has been impressive...especially the last game.

That said, we have to see what he does against better competition. If he keeps it up..he'll be in New York in December.

this has got to be the longest thread on this site;) wonder where some of the guys that was with us last year went?? jagger stdiva..to name a couple???

I forgot about that young man from Michigan he is some kind of good.Really a one man show.He can throw, run and if you lined him up at wideout he might be able to catch:dunno:If he goes down so does Michigan

I've been away, smoknn. However, I'm back now so what was the question?

:1orglaugh

LOL....seriously. I see Alabama as a juggernaut again this year. Their 2-headed monster at RB along with their road-grader OL is an unstoppable force IMO. OSU is the only school that has a legitimate shot to upend them (unless they stumble against another SEC opponent like Arkansas) and even at that the odds are long.

However, after all, it IS college football and one never knows what will happen, right....that's why we watch, isn't it?

As for me, as long as Texas beats OU and can take out Nebraska I'll be a happy camper. That'll be a very tough order to say the least. I will say this much....Texas' defense is the best in the nation IMO. If only we could find a running game we'd give the Tide and the Bucks a run for their money but I just don't see us being able to put enough points up. Hopefully, we get a BCS bid anyway.

Oh....and BSU and TCU will get screwed as usual. :)

Jagger welcome back my friend.Well if that is all Texas has to do it only gives them two wins:1orglaugh.Just kidding but the Longhorns are another one of those teams I think have all the pieces they just have not got it together yet.Good thing is they are not like Florida sorry Gator fans but they got to get it together.I mean they have not lost but they are not playing Gator football.Anyway like you said Jagger BSU and TCU will get screwed be forced to play each other again.Great to have you back. Now the season has really started.:glugglug:

Welcome back Jagger :glugglug:

I see Alabama as a juggernaut again this year.

I know this is not Duke's defense but the ball control they have is great. If that ground game gets going it could be a very long day for Arkansas.

I agree. Bama's going to steamroll the Razorbacks.

USC is only favored by 22 over hapless Washington State. The linemakers are becoming very wary of the University Of Titsrock.

Other pac 10 picks:

Oregon should bury Arizona State.
Boise State will beat Oregon State but +17 1/2 is a somewhat tempting number on the Beavs.

Upset play of the day: play the money line (+500) on UCLA vs Texas. If the Bruins play the way they did last week against Houston they could surprise the Longhorns. If they play like they did the week before against Stanford they'll get murdered. But at those odds they're worth taking a small flyer on.

Wow, that's ridiculous! 17 1/2 point underdogs?? I have Oregon State winning that game outright, I'm taking that in a heartbeat.

Which reminds me, OSU is gonna beat Boise State, like I've been saying for over a month now.

Thanks, smoknn. Let's just say I've been distracted for a few months.

There are 2 huge differences between UCLA's situation this week as opposed to last week:

1) The game is in Austin, not Pasadena.
2) The Bruins won't be facing the Cougar defense....they'll be up against what is perhaps the best defense in the NCAA. The pitiful Cougar D made Kevin Prince look like the second coming of Michael Vick. He won't be able to do that against the 'Horns.

If you're going to "take a flyer" on them, I'd make it REALLY small.

How about tonight's game? Should be killer....really a pick 'em game (Miami is a 3 1/2 point road dog) since it's a home game for Pitt. I gotta pick my 'Canes to make a comeback and pull out a thriller against Dion Lewis and company. Should be a good one....6:30 CDT on ESPN.

Welcome back Jagger.

I’ll bring you up to speed on some things.

The g/f and I are still hoarse from screaming at the top of our lungs for 4 qts down at the shoe a couple weeks ago against the U.

And it has been 2,497 days since my Buckeyes lost to that school up North.

Thank you, my friend. :hatsoff:

Yes. Those are two BIG reasons Texas is probably a deserving 5 to 1 favorite.
....along with the fact UCLA is still very thin and very mistake prone. But they have some real good athletes on defense, and if they bring the kind of energy they did vs Houston this could be a pretty low scoring defensive struggle decided by a turnover or two.

I bow to your expertise in assessing your team's defense. I wasn't impressed by the opener against Rice but they did step it up considerably last week vs Tech. Prince isn't a downfield threat at all, so if the Horns DL and LBs are able to assume control the situation will turn ugly lol

If you're going to "take a flyer" on them, I'd make it REALLY small.

:1orglaugh That's very sound advice thanks, and yes it will be :D

Welcome back. The Big10 is going to be the Big12, Boise State has an easy schedule, Michigan is back...except with the experts, Alabama has a helluva team, the Big East fell into the sea, and Lane Kiffin is the antichrist.

Michigan is back...except with the experts,

Remains to be seen. Our defense is as soft as a moving van full of Goose Downs. "Defense wins championships":horse:

Me personal I would not call the WVU win over LSU an upset I think the Tigers are overrated and it will show this week.Let's not forget about the North Carolina game. The Tigers have one good play and if you are not punting or throwing the ball he is unless.Jordan Jefferson is not all that good.and I'm waitng to see what game he gets benched, don't get me wrong they are 2-0 but you have to watch this team ole Les Miles is fuckin' up :dunno:but we are use to that.

Anyway I like your picks and sorry Dirk.Stanford has there way with the Irish 38-24

Good point about LSU. They should have smoke UNC but barely won. Either UNC is that good to compete with LSU missing all those starters or LSU is a tad overrated.

How about a little love for my resurgent Hurricanes before we dive into the weekend, guys? I mean, 31-3??? We smoked the Panthers.....'Canes front 4 was in the Pitt backfield all night and Dion Lewis couldn't do shit. Even though the ACC is perhaps the weakest BCS conference (Big East maybe??), I see them as the best team this year. Jacory Harris needs to quit trying to force everything and quit throwing interceptions. Otherwise, they look really strong. Young and getting better. Go 'Canes!

They are a tad overated Jordan Jefferson is doing maybe just enough to get by the teams they are playing. For example in the North Carolina game he passed for 151 yards which is not bad but what the hell in Vandy game 96 yards and in the Mississippi State game 97.What age they going to do against a real team cause that won't cut it.By the way South Carolina beats Auburn 28-24 close but USC on the east coast wins.Cam Newton is a 250lbs QB that does not mind bringing the lumber
