So, if someone WANTED to play TCU, they would be hosting the frogs / broncos.....and they would have to schedule them 2 years in advance.

Don't disingenuously make this out to be a 'choose your fight' ala boxing....it isn't anything comparable

Now why would I do that.I could care less i just want to see the best team play. You know just as well as I do a playoff system would end all this.:dunno:

Didn't Boise beat Oaklahoma is the Fiest bowl, just sayin' :)

That was a bowl game. They did not schedule each other.

Let me strighten out what I said eariler If I had a conference schedule like Alabama,Oklahoma,Ohio State fuck it I would not want to play Boise or TCU.Then again it would give you the tough game exp.Fuck it all I've bee drinking:glugglug:None of this shit makes sense:rolleyes:

Hey wait I know this answer. It was like 1996 or something

That's impossible, cuz that was the year my Gators beat your Noles in the Sugar Bowl to win the national title. :thefinger

Ok some thoughts.......

I went 17-8 on my picks....

Shame on everyone who doesn't have Michigan State at least in the top 7. Seriously, fuck that shit. I'm one of those guys who says the SEC is the best conference (more on that later). But how the fuck is LSU and Alabama ahead of Michigan State? And even Auburn possibly, they haven't exactly dominated opponents. Their defense sucks. If Cam Newton were on Florida instead of Auburn, Auburn would be 4-3 (or worse), and Florida could be 7-0 (if not, 6-1, the Bama game being the loss). Just look at State's body of work.

How could you people say the SEC is overrated?? It is actually alot better cuz it is now deeper. Even the very worst team in the conference (Tennessee :thefinger) is a decent team who almost won in Baton Rouge. The Pac-10 is deep as fuck too. Those two conferences are far and away the best conferences. The Big Ten has 4 good teams, but the bottom is full of shit teams. How do you think Purdue managed to get to 4-2? And the Big XII, lol. Every year there's a couple teams (this year OK State and Missouri) who sail along to 6-0 or so for lack of competition. I could make the argument the Mountain West is the 3rd or 4th best conference. Which is why if they both finish undefeated, TCU better finish ahead of Boise State. And people need to stop talking about stuff that happened last year. We are crowning a champion for the 2010 season, not 2009-2010.

And why is Wisconsin behind of Ohio State in the polls? Let's see..... Head-to-head? Check. Tougher schedule? Check. Signature wins? Check. Makes no sense.

I swear the only poll worth paying attention to is the one that doesn't count towards the BCS, the AP poll.

Ok, my top 10.....

1 Oregon
2 TCU
3 Boise State
4 Oklahoma
5 Michigan State
6 Auburn
7 Utah
8 LSU
9 Alabama
10 Wisconsin

OK, OK I surrender. The SEC is the greatest of all greats. And the proof is the powerhouse............Akron Zips. Kentucky beat them by 27 while Indiana only beat them by 15. I think that is all the proof we need.:facepalm:

ok folks i got a early one for ya..i know this is not a nfl board before i get punched..we all like money ...this is my first money in the bank pick this year..for a happy face..take new orleans -5 against tampa bay bet the farm

besides you bodie:clap:..whats a guy gotta do round here to get a few claps..this is the 3rd lock in a week i have picked for you guys??gawd?

I gotta say smoknn, I'm surprised you're so high on Auburn. They have played 1 good game this season, that's about it (against South Carolina). And even that game they started badly. All their games are close.

I'm an SEC guy. But all these teams ahead of Michigan State is bullshit. Fuckin' bullshit.

I have no problem with Alabama ahead of South Carolina. Beating a team on your own homefield should not guarantee being ahead of them in the polls. Unless it was a blowout.

Btw 1 game got overlooked. The Beavers going to Tucson and torching the Cats defense. Oregon State is only 3-2, but they've played a ridiculously tough schedule thus far. Don't count them out in the Pac-10. And that win helps the resumes of both Boise State and TCU, who each beat the Beavs.

For the first time in a long time, I'm afraid to play against Florida State........at least that game won't affect our SEC title chances......

cream is rising to the top now yum...auburn is rated where they should be.,.at the moment (cough)..=my point auburn was the most underrated team in football..and anyone ever hear of iowa??..just thought i would throw that in

Boy, you don't pay attention much do you? People have been saying that strength of schedule is a very big determining factor in the rankings. We have a saying down here in SEC football country regarding the matter as it pertains to the other conferences: "Your roar is really easy to be heard when you are the only bear in the forest, but when a forest contains about 4 or 5 other bears, it becomes a bit more difficult to distinguish who the baddest bear in the forest is."

Not saying that the other schools like Michigan, Wisconsin, Iowa, TCU, Oregon, Ohio State(begrudgingly)and Boise don't deserve respect. On the contrary, I recognize them as good football schools and I do watch many of their games(especially Oregon.) However, when you have earned your stripes taking down other bears rather than preying on the sheep that inhabit your neck of the woods, it becomes pretty clear who the baddest mofo on the block is.

That's just homeristic gibberish. I asked for a lucid response, not some SEC pep rally material.

As for Kentucky taking down South Carolina who took down Alabama, well hell man, this IS football. Upsets do happen you know. So much so that there is a popular saying that addresses the matter in three words..."Any Given Sunday" or in the case of college ball "Any Given Saturday". Alabama lost to a good team and has had to play more tough teams than Michigan has and will continue to do so until the end of the season. When you are in the SEC, there is no such thing as an easy game in the conference. This conference is more upset prone than all the other ones because everyone is so battle tested.

 I bet I've watched more Gamecock games this season than you have and, yes, they are a good team. So is Alabama. That's not what the polls are about however. The fact is that Alabama has a loss and Michigan State doesn't. Auburn is a really good team too. Suppose they beat the Tide later this year and MSU is still undefeated? You still justify ranking Alabama ahead of them just because they are a "good team" and is one of your "bears" in the big bad SEC? Makes no sense pal.

I take nothing away from the SEC. Great conference, great teams. However, a loss is a loss and should count as much against SEC teams as losses by schools in other major conferences....especially when you are talking about a Big 10 school that remains undefeated (and I'm no Big 10 fan by any stretch). I just think things should be judged fairly and it's pretty obvious that the AP pollsters are out to lunch on this one. I suppose I shouldn't be so adamant about it. These polls don't mean shit....especially the AP.

:rofl::rofl: @ "SEC pep rally..."

So true my friend! I shouldn't let a useless fucking poll like the AP bother me....especially at this time of year. It's just that every time the BCS nonsense starts to gear up like it did this weekend it simply reminds me how lousy the system is. We talk about it every year here, nothing ever changes and the sham goes on. We'll see how things shake out. Truth is (hopefully), if Michigan State keeps winning, they'll get their due.

Geezus....and I could give a fuck about Michigan State! :1orglaugh

Man how true is that I could give a fuck less about Michigan State and i find my self saying the samething they'll get their due :rolleyes:I'm like you let it play out and maybe we might see an Oregon-TCU national champion:rolleyes: I would love to see Michigan State in the Rose Bowl but hey that is just me.

I think regardless of what happens, the only thing that will ultimately prove if the SEC is indeed head and shoulders above all other conferences is what will their overall bowl record be. I do feel the SEC is the #1 conference, but how good they are I don't think we'll find out until January.

i already know how good they are..its in black and white..the sec has took the national title home the last 4 years..wartcH auburn...maybe 5

Yup. Even when LSU went after losing a game they showed their dominance by completely trouncing an undefeated Ohio State. Game wasn't even close.

On another note, I just saw the reply on ESPN of Eric LeGrand of Rutgers being paralyzed. It is pretty disturbing because you can tell that as soon as he landed that there was something wrong. Poor guy, I hope he makes a full recover like that guy from Penn State that was paralyzed in the same manner back in 2000.

Okie practically lost to Utah State and some other scrub team :dunno: How the hell are they #1? I think they are Top 3 worthy, but #1...c'mon.

Boise is getting fooked in this and it stinks.

I think the only fix that has to happen for CFB is the end of all Conferences. Make every team an independent. Let teams schedule who they want to. Let a panel of "experts" a la NCAA BBall committee decide and rank teams AFTER the season is done...

Okie probably will get hammered in the Big12 Champ game anyway...

I'm really pulling for Michigan State, but I having a hard time really believing they'll go 12-0. The only teams in the Big Ten with a chance of going to the title game with a loss are Wisconsin and Iowa (not that it's much of a chance anyway) cuz they have to play each other, Michigan State, and Ohio State, which helps their SOS. Iowa and Stanford is my predicition for the Rose Bowl. I think Oregon State will beat Oregon, and someone else will upset them along the way (USC?). That's assuming neither goes to the title game.

Btw TCU and Boise State are the best teams in the nation. Just looking at the teams, in terms of strengths, execution, coaching, and talent (and not records or who they've played anything like that) I would rank the top 10 teams in this regard as such:

1 TCU, 2 Boise State, 3 Alabama, 4 Ohio State, 5 Iowa, 6 Stanford, 7 Oregon, 8 Oklahoma, 9 Nebraska, 10 Utah

i dont know about no big 12 CG ..but i do know this..mizz has got a pretty damn good team..okie better bring it all saturday..this wont be no walk in the park.....my pick of the week...take mizz +3

you cant be serious.

Just relax and turn off the BooYah network once in a while.

Rankings and BCS is meaningless until the season is over. Teams just need to play out their schedules in their conferences. Rankings (and Boise comparisons) are meaningless because conferences aren't created equal, nor CAN they be. The athletic conferences exist for a reason. The "National Championship" isn't the be-all-end-all. Enjoy the games each week and enjoy college football for what it is (not some NFL competition). Enjoy each bowl game, and quit feeling like you're getting 'cheated' because you are given some gambler's paradise of a sweet sixteen/final four tourney.

As it is set up now, we already have a tournament set up now for the "NC"....1 loss and teams are typically out of contention. That's just how a playoff would work, anyway.
