Get to know ND from the inside out. Tradition is what matters, not money or booking opponents. It is so deeply ingrained there that they refuse to use anything other than pure wool for the band uniforms. Even though they have band members pass out from heat stroke at nearly every game.

They don't care, man. They just keep on doing the same thing. I'll be mighty surprised if ND jumps in.

well in that case for Notre Dame if they do lose teams like Michigan State you can replace them with teams like Georgia Tech I mean they played the in the early 90's.Hell back in the 80's they played them all the time:dunno:.I also think if and when this happens you will see the start of the Super Conferences stating with the SEC.Trying to get back Georgia Tech, also going after Flordia State,Miami, and North Carolina pushing them to 16 teams

91 thousand at the spring game,,,91 came..91 left with a smile we are loaded rollllllllllllllll tideeee rolllllllllllllllll talent all over the field...we gunna have players in the 4th qtr fresh..that could start on any team in ncaa

Well I'm not making forecasts for USC this year. I don't trust that Lame Kiffin is competent enough to the HC of USC. I suppose I thought the same thing about Pete Carroll :o

I will wait to see the product on the field. The defense should be better with Monte and Orgeron stomping around the field.

But I really don't know about our offense. I kinda thought Sarkissian was better between Lane and Sark. The Raiders approached Sark first for their job back when Lane took it.

Although let's be honest. Tennessee looked lost and shitty last season on the field. They never got blown out last year was about all they can hold their hat on :dunno:

My standards for USC success are slightly higher than that... :thefinger

Plus, we have a completely watered down schedule this year. 10 wins or get rid of the staff :wave2:

Man, Brian Kelly is shaking things up at Notre Dame. And he is working hard to lower expectations, telling people "We stink right now."

Blue-Gold game was fun. Son of Joe Montana had a great day. He's a walk on and is now the back up quarterback.

a friendly reminder......kiffin was a field goal away from beatin the # 1 team in the nation last year..in fact..tenn was the only bump in bamas season. rolllllllllll tideeee rolllllllllllllll

Tennessee still has a long way to go I would not really call that a bump in a great team always find a way to win and that what Alabama did win back a blocked field goal that what a champion team does win

 All Hail Mighty U.S.C.
ESPN is running some sort of "fill up the time and space" bracket in order to determine which school is the true NFL Pipeline.

Guess who's the #1 seed. (Psst. It ain't Bama). :thefinger

The latest news has the Big 10 zeroing in on offers for Nebraska, Missouri, Notre Dame and Rutgers to join the conference. Another source I heard says that Rutgers is a contingency only if the Domers say "no thanks" once again but this site seems to think it will be all 4 schools....with perhaps another added later to make it a 16-team conference with 2 divisions (Pitt?).

From the Detroit Free Press:

Report: Big Ten has made offers to Notre Dame, Rutgers, Nebraska and Missouri

POSTED BY JAMES JAHNKE
FREE PRESS SPORTS WRITER

A Kansas City radio station is reporting that the Big Ten has made initial expansion offers to Notre Dame, Rutgers, Nebraska and Missouri, citing multiple unnamed sources close to the situation.

Two ways to look at this one: 1.) My word, another one of these reports? 2.) Where there's smoke, there's fire.

Here's a portion of WHB-AM (810)'s report:

While nothing can be approved until the Big Ten presidents and chancellors meet the first week of June in Chicago, the league has informed the two Big 12 schools, Notre Dame and Rutgers that it would like to have them join. It is not yet clear whether the Big Ten will expand to 14 or 16 teams. ... If Notre Dame joins, sources say an offer will be extended to one other school making it a 16-team league. ...

Big Ten representatives have also told Missouri officials they would like to have the entire expansion process wrapped up this summer with a formal announcement coming no later than July.

If this happens, do Texas and Texas A & M bolt to the Pac 10?

Who would you rather add, Pac-10'ers....Colorado & Utah or Texas & Texas A & M? What does the Big 12 do if these dominoes start falling? BYU? TCU?

^
If you're the Pac10 than you do whatever you can to grab Texas and Texas A&M and you rename your conference something other than Pac10.

I don't see Nebraska leaving for the Big 10. Even for that $22mil a year.

If Nebraska leaves than maybe the Texas and Oklahoma schools look at creating a New Southwest/Mountain Conference--and go grab Arky, TCU, SMU, UTEP, Colorado, Colorado State, Utah, BYU and maybe offer LSU and Auburn invites....

No way do Arkansas, LSU or Auburn leave the mighty SEC.

If the Texas & Okie schools put together a new cable channel and offer LSU and Arky $30mil a year they will leave quicker than you can say Poo on the SEC :thefinger

Look at the ratings power a Texas/Okie/New Orleans/Denver conference could flex. Those are some big, big markets there....

No way Notre Dame takes that. They make too much money as it is.

If they still have Choke Weisz, maybe. New coach, new hope. Futile hope, yes. But new.

Where are you going to get the $30 million, t-rock? Big markets in Texas (Houston, Dallas), decent market in Denver but Tulsa, Little Rock and Oklahoma City are not exactly media meccas. And there's not going to be anybody left in New Orleans since Katrina and now this oil spill. No way does Auburn give up its rivalry with Alabama.

I just don't see it happening.

Because of the Big 10 deals with Big 10 Network and ESPN/ABC, both Indiana and Purdue make more money than Notre Dame does.

Notre Dame is the third most profitable program in the State of Indiana.
