Good point. Guys on Rivals are now calling Miles "Simple Jack."

Oh my Goodness:rofl:After that he was aked after the game was over why din't you bring out your field goal unit.He said we would not have had enough time he burned like 17 seconds on stright BS and on top of that the clock stops after first downs anyway but its Simple Jack :rofl:Gotta love that

I did like the helmets though.

Perfect example of how liberal and conservative freaks can see the same thing and come to a different conclusion.

Fact: The Ohio State Buckeyes wore 1954 National Championship “throwback” uniforms.

Opinion: Both CS and BI come to the conclusion that the helmets look an awful lot like a team from Tuscaloosa.

CS: Those helmets look great!

BI: Those helmets look horrible! (Other than the fact that the last time we wore those helmets, we beat that team up north, USC, Cal, the whole Big Ten, and won the National Championship.)

How about the stupid Arizona students getting ready to storm the field :1orglaugh

What a game in Tucson! Go Ducks. Best Football Moment Ever: The Arizona fans having to climb back into their seats and watch their team lose. Ha ha! Tools.

I read that an Oregon cheerleader was hospitalized after the game when an Arizona fan threw a full waterbottle from the stands and hit her in the head. What a lame bunch of fucktards. Enjoy the Toilet Bowl, Arizona!

well, Cal - Stanford was an awesome game but the wrong team won :(

i love game day!! so much fun!

lol at the Simple Jack title, CunningStunts, thats classic :)

post game day thoughts:

* man the pac 10 is just beating itself up this year
* i may be going out on a limb here, but i'm going to go ahead and disagree with Holtz that the Irish make it to a BCS bowl this year ;)
*Coach Mangino got the last laugh on Texas by eating BEVO
* Michigan OSU is a great rivalry but dang the wolverines could make it more interesting by winning one every once in a while :) Go Bucks!
* CNN has reported tonight that the SEC Refs are more corrupt than Enron, then they retracted the statement saying that the comparison was too insulting to Enron.
* TCU and Houston were left out when the Big 12 formed, the Big 12 instead chose Baylor in attempt to pick the most competetive teams from the former Southwest Conference. Funny that.
*Florida put the whoopin on Nadine's Beauty School today. Those stylist didnt know what hit em.

rivalry week continues next week doesnt it? go <insert name of your school here> !!!

--I dunno...Weis will probably be fired, But he's such a cuddly, friendly German/Irish lovebear!!
--The bayou Tigers...no, the other ones...apparently want a title as bad as I want an enema. That or the Nutt Curse is too powerful.
--RichRod better get packing. The Brokeye D is OK, but the O coasted despite 2,227 turnovers by Forcier.
--Big12 South? Texastime. Give props to Colt and the boys. But TAM and the 'Huskers loom. And nothing is for sure.
--Congrats to Florida and 'Bama on their big victories against two of the greatest teams ever to show up.
--Hey...give some luvin' to the undefeated Broncos. They're undefeated, and they've beaten one (1) ranked team. Did I mention that they're undefeated?
--The Ducks quack by by a feather...God the Rose Bowl's gonna be boring!
--Lastly, I would like to thank my Michigan State Spartans for participating in this season's NCAA football season.:(

Michigan. You make the football gods sad.

OSU is a down team this year, but I never had a doubt. Michigan needs a least another year of rebuilding or two. If Rich Rod does not step up next year they are going to pine for a 122-40 record of Carr.

Michigan is in critical condition right now. RR is a good coach but took the absolute wrong approach (with almost every decision) at UM.

He came in with a goal of rebuilding UM and that was an accepted theory by too many people. Frankly UM wasn't some lesser tier program with no history of football success nor was UM a program in tatters, in or exiting probation, on the heels of successive bad seasons, etc. The program didn't need rebuilding.

You don't rebuild things that don't need rebuilding as rebuilding takes time and you may not get a chance to finish what you started (especially getting paid $2.5+). When something isn't broken in the first place, people tend to have less patience with your efforts to rebuild it.

I was a strong supporter of RR from day one but his mistake was not appreciating the history of success and winning at UM as much as he should have. Which is why I believe he had no qualms with rebuilding at the expense of winning. I don't think he fully appreciated the fact that you don't go 3-9 at Michigan under the plan that you started someplace else the same way. One example is his penchant for up tempo no huddle when even he admits the offense wasn't sound in their assignments last season. The only reason why you run up tempo no huddle is to either confuse the defense or prevent substitutions. But why would you employ that strategy with an offense that can't get out of it's own way??? That means to me it was more important for that part of his strategy be implemented than ensuring offensive success. Bad mistake IMO.

RR should have simply retooled the program and rebuilt in stages.

The formula isn't a simple one but it's tried and true....When taking over a premier program, most every other coach worth his salt has landed game changers in recruiting to help them win games while they transition.

RR did no such thing. He's still recruiting like he's at WVU in getting project players.

He likes to talk about depth at positions and creating competition but the reality is...most 2 or 3 star players don't make other 2 or 3 star players better. Legit 4 and 5 star players make 2 and 3 star players better through competition at positions.

You can go down the list....the usual suspects rotating through the top 5 every year usually finish near the top 5 recruiting (save for Boise St. types who are good but don't compete week in and week out against top talent) every year or so.

Carroll, Stoops, Saban, Meyer, Brown, Tressell, Miles etc. all landed top 5 recruiting classes by their 2nd years. Hell, even Weis did. And with the exception of Weis the effects of landing those types of classes has reflected in the type of success they've had.

Contrast that model with the approach RR has undertaken. He comes in and lands a good but not nearly great recruiting class (no real or apparent game changers). Not a big relationship but RR breaks a record for futility in his first season. His next recruiting class is good but not nearly great, his second season is below average....now his job is being questioned...his opportunity for success is being questioned. Even if he wanted to try and land game changers now...which one is going to commit to a program where the HC could be fired in a season or two?

Now he's into season 3 with no game changers to even get the program winning near the level it was before he got there, on schedule to have made $7.5m by the end of his 3rd season and no reason to think a dramatic improvement will happen from year 2 to year 3. Into year four he's on track to get paid (not earn) $10m just to possibly get the program back to where it was before he got there while having broken every record for futility along the way. You don't pay someone $2.5m per year to rebuild a program. If you want to rebuild and accept the time it will take, you find yourself a good coach that you can pay a 3rd or half of that.

6 year contract or not....that's a recipe for getting fired at a program like UM.

Good coach just wrong approach IMO.

Hawkeyes. Apparently the intoxicatingly glorious Ember Reigns is rocking South Beach in a black and yellow corn suit:rolleyes::D:1orglaugh

So, you're basically saying that it's time for Rodriguez to get sacked? Will Michigan make a play for Jim Harbaugh, Brian Kelly, the TCU guy?, an NFL assistant?....

They better stick with what they got and give it time unlike Notre Dame thet severs them right as far as it is they had two coaches before Weis that was doing an okay job but never gave them time hell Weis won with other coaches' players
