Haven't you heard about the mess the owner of Man City is in? Thaksin Somebody is the guy's name. He was "allegedly" supposed to have $2Billion to his name but his billions have been frozen by his home country. They want to imprison him for fraud and other "issues":D I guess Hughes was lied to when Man City talked to him about how they would allow him to buy whomever he wanted and model the team around his vision. Now, they're selling off all the great players to pay payroll!

I think Hughes will quit. I didn't understand why he left Blackburn anyway. He did a decent job with them. Man City might be a hungrier team...but...

Yeah I know what is going on at Man City but my opinion stays the same on the issue. If he quits he is without a job and may have to go down a league to get a new job or he could stay and get experiance of managing in the UEFA Cup so that come the end of the season his reputation has increased in World Football and he has a better choice of club should he have to leave.
They are still spending money as they broke there transfer record in the summer to sign Jo and also spent money on Tal Ben Haim whilst not selling any players who would be considered first teamers.

Neither Man City or Blackburn are a massive club, but Man City has greater room to grow than Blackburn so they can become a big club.

Is any one feeling a little disillusioned with football lately, im getting very bored with the constant blah blah blah is the best way I can put it in the media and I cant even sit through a game anymore, probably because its been on so much this summer Euro 08 etc that there is no buffer zone inbetween seasons to have a rest from it. But for now I dont care about any football news at all.

It's good to be the king...

Thank you!!! I've also felt a little disillusioned about the forthcoming EPL season, albeit for different reasons....

I enjoyed Euro 2008, and as far as I'm concerned, didn't miss my national team one jot (sorry England, but I gave up on the "Golden generation" media hype, WAGs, etc. after the last World Cup).

What pi$$ed me off was the antics of Ronaldo & Adebye-bye this summer.

Hell no. I'm ready for the season. Euro2008 only whetted my appetite. Plus, I am sick with nausea over the "Brett Favre soap opera"...I am so fucking sick and tired of Brett Favre and the NFL...I NEED THE EPL NOW!

Adebayor and Ronaldo are nothing more than talented phony mercenaries...they both will be gone after this season. New stars will arrive to take their place. They both will regret giving up what they had. Is Real Madrid REALLY BETTER than ManU? Sure, the weather is nicer. But are the fans louder and more passionate? Does the euro go twice as far in Spain as the pound does in London? He, and Adebayor, are grossly inflated mega-narcissists....meh. THey won't ruin the season for me.

Arsenal started off the title run with what sounds like a zzzZZZZzzz:sleep: win over West Brom. Luckily I didn't post a 7-0 destruction prediction yesterday:1orglaugh

But the best news...oh, tootenham..what happened? All those big signings..all the Bentley talk..."we're going to the Big 4":1orglaugh Ooops. Better luck next year spurs!:thefinger

It was a bit of a false start on Saturday performance wise. But it should
get into full swing in a few weeks.I think there will be wins for Man U,
Chelsea and Villa today :)

Shit. What the hell did Chelski eat for breakfast today? I did not think they would hit 4 against Portsmouth today. Pompey...wtf happened?

Manure almost lost to Newcastle...THAT would've made my weekend.

boobmanz

I love big booty too!
Does anyone go on this site Football Shirt Blog

I like checking out the new shirts every year. This has been a great year for some teams--Valencia, Fehbernace, Aston Villa--and an awful year for other teams' kits--Arsenal BOO!, Chelski 3rd (yellow:throwup:), Milan...

The season is almost upon us....ahhhh....

Thanks. Didn't know this site and that being a sucker for Jerseys.
And oh yeah, this year we (AJAX Amsterdam) will finally be Dutch Champions again. Pre season test matches don't mean a thing..

^^
Yeah that's a great blog. I like checking out the new kits. One of the best I've seen this year is the latest Boca Jrs home kit. Really nice looking.

I hate both of my Gunners' kits this season! BLLAAH! Won't be buying either of them...

First weekend of Premiership was decent to watch. Chelsea were brilliant as were Villa. Blackburn looked good against Everton. Thought Arsenal should have won by a few more but on the whole a good way to begin the league.

And tootyham took a loss! Let's not forget that! Are they even going to land Arshavin at this point? Berbatov wants to leave them. Robbe Keane is gone (a HUGE loss for them). It's going to be a long season for spurs even if they get Arshavin.

I think Spurs need another striker and perhaps Pavlachenko would be the best
choice,as bent is mostly up there on his own.

I think Tottenham need a new team! ;)

I thought they did all right in getting Bentley and Gomes. They still need
a leader defensively and a striker as I said before.

But I don't think they'll be title contenders this season.I've got a feeling
that Scolari's 1st term will be like Mourinho's 1st season and Chelsea will
end up walking away with the title.

Although it's only the 1st game :)

Gomes is a real good goalkepper. I'm a huge PSV Eindhoven fan and Gomes is someone who can save points for the team and becoming a champion.

Everton is my favourite in the Premier League. After the 2-3 loss, the have to beat West Bromwich Albion this Saturday.

Nikki Benz: Simply the best #1!!

When he played for Cruzeiro before the transfer to PSV most of the press here in Brazil said he was the wrong keeper in the best team back in 2004... Cruzeiro had a very good team but Gomes was not good as he is now and he conceded easy goals... some funny goals!!!

and now he's in the Premier League and everybody saying he's one of the best... he done a great job in Netherlands but is not a very good league as the Brazilian and Premier League... I hope Gomes plays good as he played in PSV and not in Cruzeiro or else he's in the bench!

Don't think they need a defender as King is a solid defender when he is fit and in my opinion Woodgate is the second best English centre half about. Dawson is a decent plater as well.
They will need at least 1 striker depending on what formation they are going to play.

Didn't see the game but heard Harry Redknapp's comments after the game and can only imagine how bad it must have been. From looking at the team se selected I am not surprised they were terrible.
