my town needs a dog care center, there are too many abandoned dogs on the streets, who are being left on the fate, and they represent danger for the people too when hungry or mad, so i guess a center for these dogs would be great giving them food and care and good for the people too, not being atacked by them when hungry.
so instead of living them on their fate, why not having a new best friend? we all know dogs how wonderful are. with a little care they offer you all they got, their friendship which is priceless.
imagine just how helpful are they helping blind people.
i really like this idea of yours and am continuing voting you, i hope you'll reach your goal.

I was voting for you two already, but i want to publicly endorse this. I have adopted two wonderful dogs (Knuckles and Gizmo) from Julia's rescue program and she has traveled 6k miles to bring them to me in Europe. I didn't know about you being a dog rescuer too, Vicky, and now i love you even more. Thanks for the great gesture and i hope you girls will win.

Thanks so much for this post. I am currently working at a dog shelter that is the 'last stop' for dogs that were not rescued from the pound/city center. Dogs who either were returned when adopted or fostered or who simply just could not find a home. The shelter is stretched so badly for funds that it is either kill some dogs or have them live in small cages. They have chosen the latter. So some of the dogs live in tiny cages and get let out when they can. We have just raised through website members and fund raising $5K to buy 5 new 10x10 cages. They are being delivered next week. We are working on more, plus some fencing if possible. It's not everyone's favorite charity/do good work... but it is mine.

I am not asking for anyone to give me any money..... but I am asking for your votes for Julia Ann & myself.

thanks miss vicky vette. yes situation with dogs here is serious. government and most people don't do nothing, or they keep only dogs of expensive races, while rest are abandoned.
if you cant treat a dog right, better don't take responsibility, this is what i stand. i don't like to make a dog pound where dogs will be treated like objects, they are living creatures. they need all care like a human, food, hygiene, vet control, etc. sadly for now am not able to do much, but i am already voting you and hope we'll achieve the goal. :)
i have send a letter about this problem to our ministry of ecology, but they haven't done nothing until now, seemed it was a useless move from me.
i am sure by helping dogs, our people here will help themselves too (wont be atacked by dogs, there wont be dogs causing troubles, or spreading diseases, also for the dogs will be better if they have care, by care mean keeping them on a pound, not in cages, but in a open place like garden, being taken on a walk, and the most human treat they can get) i am still hoping on our ministry of ecology. there could be dogs trained to lead blind people, police dogs, etc. we are throwing our best friends away. well, talking of sick dogs, i stand against what they call putting them asleep. if they can be cured, yes, if no, give them a chance, we never know what can come out of them. i am glad you're doing that miss vicky, it's awesome from your side.

1. Julia was winning anyway..... so if it was a ploy we would have waited in case she was faltering...
2. We announced for press and awareness... so that we can raise not only Freeones prize money but also interest from other peeps....
3. If there are extra votes because people realize we are not running out to buy Louis Vuitton handbags or $1,000 shoes.... so be it

... if you wait until after the contest, trust me... it's not real news.... imho....

I have an all white Bull Terrier named Beaver. 4 yrs old, 56 lbs and super awesome.

I also have a 90 lb red nose Pit named Ramsey who is a rescue. :) I think 90% of My Instagram pictures are of my dogs if you care to see them.

You both have my votes. I have been a foster mom to dogs for years. There are NEVER enough fosters, so maybe some of you can check it out and become a foster. It's an amazing experience. Right now I have three rescue dogs. Lola and Hannah are German Shepherds and Husker is a Black Lab. All three came from abusive situations but now they are spoiled rotten.

My parents used to have a german shepherd when I was 3, he died at 16 years old of age
