Actually, there was no one from England - Sophie is Welsh. I can't quite get what you are saying here though, because what you have ended up with is that 80% of the top 10 are American, and in fact 100% of them are US based.
On another note, welcome back Nikki - sorry we couldn't do better for you, but there's always next year. xxx
I meant to say UK for Sophie, as I wasn't exactly sure where she was from.....so the winner was from Wales, and 2nd place (Vicky) was from Norway, but the rest of the top 10 was from the US. As much as it pains me to do (admit I'm wrong that is), I have to agree with you. Of the factors that I believed contributed to Nikki coming in 24th, I have come to believe, upon further review, that this is the weakest. I had come to the conclusion based on the overall finalists, coupled with some comments/threads where country of origin was a topic, before I even realized that the country of origin of 8/10 of the top 10 was the US. I'd have to say, of the several factors, this is the shakiest of them all & I foolishly tried to defend this premise instead of admitting that, if it was a factor, it was only ever so slight, so much so that it was essentially a non-factor. In short, I allowed myself to get trapped defending one of my weakest arguments, instead of doing what I believe should be done & what I respect in others.........admitting that the argument is weak (and actually doing the research before making the argument......rather than after)!
From what I've really seen, though I didn't participate in the contest in the past, it's really something that many of the contestants have been able to build on their support from one year to the next! Also, it is something that the contestants are able to build up a base of support that is essentially exclusive of FreeOnes. Also, Nikki likely would have faired better had she been included in ALL of the categories that she NATURALLY, LOGICALLY, and DESERVED to be! Hopefully next year, if there is a next year, Nikki will be included in ALL of the categories she logically should have been (ie. Adult Model)!
Now, before I go off on a bunch of rambling tangents (ha ha ha!), I will summarize my feelings. I'm still disappointed that Nikki didn't do as good as I had hoped & I believe she deserved to, but I am still hopeful to build on the success she did have......and I look forward to "getting 'em next year"!
