Whoohoo! I won the lawsuit!

"There are only two things I **** in this world. People who are intolerant of other people's cultures... and the Dutch. "

Yes, unfortunately I have to pay income tax on it but I'll still have about 17000 dollars left. The overruling by the high court came as a complete suprise to me and the union. We never expected it and we already accepted we'd lost. The first thing I'm going to buy is a gorgeous leather couch my wife and I saw a few weeks ago and the rest is going to our savings account.

Invest what you can. Don't blow it on junk.:2 cents:

At first I thought she said eighteen Euros.

I loled.

About 3 years ago the union I'm a member of started a lawsuit on my behalf against a former employer of mine because he didn't want to conform to the collective labour agreement for small shipyards and also because he didn't pay me enough according to the collective labour agreement. My case was thrown out in civil court so we went to the high court wich completely overturned the civil court ruling. The judge ruled he was bound by law to comply with the collective labour agreement and he has to pay me the rest of the money I should have gotten plus interest and a fine. All in all I have about 18.000 euro's coming my way :)

Sounds like a lot of pinko nonsense to me!

I ***. If there was a collective labor agreement then good for you. Congrats. Contracts exist for a reason.

congrats.
i hope you have fun with it. :)

18,000 euros coming your way eh?. What's that in pounds? something like £5.63p.

I won 1000 Euros on a scratch off ticket! :nanner: ...not really...

Nice going. Good to see the right thing happened: a proper reward for sticking to your convictions.

My suggestion is a middle ground between the two camps loudly represented here here: ****&hookers or invesment?

Invest in **** and whore houses! Big profits to reap and only a 50/50 chance of 20 years in jail, the forfeiture of everything you have worked for and a new career as an ass for rent in jail.

But you work in shipyards! lots of ways to beat The Man. Again!

:nannerf2:

Ofcourse I'm going to spend it wisely. Apart form the leather couch I'm going to buy a pair of Premium Link Upgrade and my wifes car needs to be repaired. The rest of the money is going to our savings account.

Enjoy your maggies... :drool2:

I almost bought a pair of those back in the day, went with the dahlquists instead... :)

Congrats to you!
My workplace spends more time & money on union arbitrations than it does getting anything actually accomplished in the workplace.:*****::anonymous

Until 2 weeks ago I never even heard of Magnepan. My wife and I were going to a birthday party of one of my co-workers and we arrived before the rest of the guests and her husband was playing some music on the MG 1.7's he just bought. We never paid much attention the the speakers we currently have and we immediately were like, WOW! Those Magnepans really sound amazing and we also like how flat they are so we can turn them to the wall when we don't use them.

Money!

Probably not the best choice of words, but I digress....congrats!

Congrats bro!!! :'P

My union lawyer contacted me today and the money will be transfered to our account in 2 weeks. The exact amount is 18.750 euro's (24.875 dollars). After paying income tax there will still be about 12.000 euro's (almost 16.000 dollars) left :D :nanner:
