The guy should just start selling ad space on the site. It's not that big of a deal. He would suddenly become a millionaire I'll bet, with the size of that site.
No, meester, it doesn't freak me out because, after all, everybody else is pledging, therefore, we don't have to.![]()
If I recall correctly, this is Jimmy's second campaign to make us all feel guilty.
I wonder how many millions of dollars have been pledged thus far . . . . hush hush now!
He wants your soul, so long as you have a reliable cite for it.

I can empathize with Wikipedia needing money because it has virtually become a great public service to the world. While not perfect it's the most comprehensive, cheapest, and best out there.
For what the site is supposed to be it's way too big of a conflict of interest to be doing that. When it's supposed to be a encyclopedia that independently gives out the truth one wants to avoid any outside influences they can. I could see backdoor deals developing if that happened or even more likely a big advertiser pulling their adds and the money that goes along with them if information about them or somebody else they cared about appeared on the site that they didn't like.
apparently they need money.
An appeal from Wikipedia founder Jimmy Wales:
every day theres a new picture and every time he looks
more worried or scared or sad or something.
