I used to go to New York every summer when my grandmother lived there, and I would not want to drive a car around NYC. Some areas of the city are not as bad as others, but still a pain in the rear. The first time I went to the city with friends and no parents we were running late for a Yankee game and we were at Grand Central. One of my friends was claustraphobic and didn't want to go down into the subway (his first time in NYC) So I asked a police officer how long a taxi would take and how much it would cost to get to the Bronx. Of course I had not noticed that it was a little after 5 on a Friday evening. The officer kinda laughed and said that the cab would be fifty bucks one way, and he couldn't guess on how long it would take. Needless to say my friend overcame his fear or he was getting left in midtown. Subway while in NYC definatly the way to go. Cheaper than taking a cab on the surface streets. Who in the hell wants to ride a bus unless they are taking a tour of the city. Anyway to the point some cities have good public transportaiton and then others do not. Oil is the devil and they were telling us in grade school that we had to look to other energy sources. The time is now and we must find a way to overcome this crisis. End of Rant :2 cents:
