i use to have the truck think with all the figures... i loved it.
but one day my cousin decided to throw it down the stairs :crying:

funny thing... i had almost the entire GI Joes collection at my juse growing up.

well my brother, being the genius he is, sold all the GI Joe stuff in like 92'. Well, he got roughly $100 dollars at the time

Net Worth today is $20,000 in mint condition, so im assuming ours could have went for about $8,000.... yup... well that kinda sucks, oh well

that SUCKS juballs. i feel for you. my bro and had two loves in toys when we were little, LEGOS and JOE'S. we messed up most of the joes and we kinda regret it now, but then again our childhood wouldnt have been the same

That was my favorite cartoon as a kid. I couldn't wait to get home to watch what happened. They were replaying the old cartoons on Boomerang for quite awhile, but I had to drop that part of my cable and don't know if they still are.

Brings back a lot of nostaligic memories. I have a couple of the old episodes on tape though. Which joe was your favorite? Mine was Gung Ho and Beach Head.

om3ga

It's good to be the king...
Had Action Man instead.

Action Man was originally based on G.I. Joe but with a British military theme...

ive heard of action man, hes pretty cool actually. ive handled some of the figures from an irish buddy of mine. though he was based off the origional 12 in figures not the 3 3/4" guys. hes still kickass though

I had tons of GI Joes... but when I was something like 12 or 13 I destroyed them all with M-80's, smoke bombs, and other (now illegal) fireworks... lol but yeah if I had saved them, it would have been a 30 thousand dollar collection in mint condition!

LOL @ this video! "Cooobraa! Cobraaa!" hahaha this is bringing back so many childhood sandbox memories... heh heh

My 2 brothers and I each had one of the 12" G.I. Joe guys. Mine was some red-headed dude with a red beard. I can't remember what my 2 brothers' Joes looked like. We had a red truck thing - I think it was called a Rescue Ranger, and then this kickass armored vehicle thing that used batteries and had a rotating satellite dish and made noises and had some lights or something. We also had a cool helicopter for them!!! lol We actually played with them, so as far as collectibility goes, they were worthless as we grew up and grew out of playing with that stuff.

They were fun while it lasted. I hated the cartoon, though. It was a smidge better than Transformers (horrible toys and cartoons, IMO, and I can't believe they're reviving that nonsense; reviving He-Man would be just as bad!).

When the smaller G.I. Joe action figures came out to compete with the Star Wars ones, "the show was over" so to speak and G.I. Joe faded into relative obscurity. Or maybe it didn't. I don't know. I "grew up" and went on to my Atari games and Dungeons & Dragons, then to girls, my first car, and then ultimately women. :nanner:

The more you know... LOL!

GI Joe rules!

i had a bunch of the figures when i was a kid, but i think i swapped them for something. must have been something rubbish, since i can't remember what it was :(

Since I can only remember the 90's, I never had a chance to get into GI Joe. I had toys like it, but nothing was the same.

:sing: G.I. Joe - a real American hero!

(These old bumped threads are always like a mini trip down the screen name memory lane..*tear*)

oh g.i. joes, how i miss you. damn little brother broke so many of those little elastics that held them together. i remember when there thumbs broke off and they couldn't hold the guns anymore. i just pretended they were martial arts experts. and now i think of it, i should really apologize to the dumb, friendless kid up the street who i used to steal joes from. i think he knew, but that was the price of friendship.
