EXCLUSIVE: Top WWE Star Considering Retirement; Details
by Nick Paglino
Oct 03, 2010

After speaking to a source in WWE earlier this evening, WrestleZone can now exclusively confirm that a top WWE star is strongly considering his retirement from the pro wrestling industry.

Out of respect to the superstar, who is still under contract with WWE, we will not be revealing his name at this point, however as the story continues to develop WZ will be providing more information. It should be noted that the wrestler in question is NOT Chris Jericho.

We have been told that the top star's contract is expiring with WWE in the very near future, and that he has several options on his plate outside of the pro wrestling world that he has a strong interest in exploring. We have also been told that if this wrestler does indeed leave WWE it will not be to jump ship to TNA, but rather to quit the wrestling business altogether and focus on other avenues.

WZ will continue to update this situation as it develops.

Could this be Cena? Maybe he turns on the Nexus & gets fired-letting him go out as the good guy?:dunno:

Nah, he has plenty of years left. Don't be stupid.

There's speculation that it's Edge or Kane. Edge stated that he has prolly only two more years left in him, seeing how he's about to hit the 20-year mark of his career. Kane seems a bit overdue, and I can only imagine Undertaker "destroying" Kane (the character).

it actually is a possiblility that he might want to leave and do other things (history has shown what goes on in a wrestler's head once they have been bitten by the acting bug outside of the ring. Even though The Marine, 12 Rounds and Legendary all pretty much bombed, he might still be getting offers) but it's probably someone else. Vince would probably sell half of his stock in order to keep the one of the two people that keep all those kids watching.

"Don't be stupid". You dick. But you're right. Edge and Kane are both the most likely, and for the reasons you already said.

I'll guess HHH.

Maybe he's not healing up as quick or as well as he'd like?

Ah, that's a thought. I forgot that Triple H never officially retired.

I wouldn't be surprised if it was Rey Mysterio. His body's not what it used to be.

I would only be surprised because (I would assume) he is one of the higher-paid people right now, and if not then he would probably get a big offer with a renewed contract. He and Cena are the kids' favorites.

I wouldn't knock someone out of the running because they might be one of the highest paid wrestlers.

Stone Cold retired, albeit out of necessity to his body.

The Rock retired because he wanted to try acting and he didn't want his body to get to a point where he couldn't go anymore.

I'm an asshole... asshole... lol Anderson lol

Anyway, Rey is definitely retiring. In some Spanish interview he said he'll retire in two years (this was back in Spring) cuz he has about a 20-year career under his belt and it definitely took a toll in his body.

I was thinking that I heard him say he was going to retire soon because of all his injuries and he didn't want to be all hobbled up from wrestling so he could play with his kids

He has had a buncha problems with his knees.

Report: More on Why Vince Decided to Plug Foley's New Book
by Nick Paglino
Oct 06, 2010

According to The Figure Four Weekly Newsletter, the decision made to plug Mick Foley's upcoming new book "Countdown to Lockdown" on WWE TV and on WWE.com was a call made directly made Vince McMahon. According to the report, Vince recently read a blog written by Foley where he was critical of the media attempting to make the U.S. Senate race in Connecticut involving Linda McMahon about pro wrestling. Vince was apparently a big fan of the blog, and therefore made the decision to throw a couple of plugs Mick's way.

Everybody made good points on who is retiring but the one someone is not thinking about is Randy... Scifi has a plot for a weekly show and as asked him twice about doing it and he has put them off... and they are not asking any one else.... It could be him..

Ooooooooooooooo!!!!!!

THAT's an interesting point!

I wonder??????????????????

Didn't Randy sign a 10-year contract sometime this year or last year?

The guys @ Chair Shot Reality (wrestlezone.com) believe that Cena will turn heel and wrestle The Undertaker at Wrestlemania. With The Undertaker winning his last match ever.
:dunno:

Yeah, I'm a regular at the Wrestlezone forums. Y'all should post there.

But anyway, Justin and Josh of CSR are no different from us -- they're regular folk with opinions that are no more factual than ours; they just happen to have a web show to shove their thoughts through.

I was watching Smackdown tonight and I had t laugh because Cole must have forgot that the show airs on Fridays because during the Big Show segment he kept saying "last night Miz said this...". I hate that he is announcing on both shows and then he can't even keep his days right
