What's not to get? They have to have the ads out because they have to be sent to the venues for early promotion.

it does make sence they have too promo it if its a one off 4 vengance

well i know they have to promo it but why not closer to the vengance date. it just seems odd, a bit backwards to me but none-the-less I'm looking forward to what happens and who may become a part of the group.

If they wait to long, they might not get people to buy. Have to have the teasers out early to let the consumer in on what they'll be getting.

WWE Announces ECW As Their Third Brand

STAMFORD, Conn., May 25, 2006 -- World Wrestling Entertainment, Inc., today announced the official launch of ECW as a brand extension to its RAW and SmackDown franchises.

After acquiring the ECW assets in 2003, WWE spent the past few years re-introducing ECW to the global WWE audience and increasing the interest in its unique brand of sports entertainment. To date, WWE has successfully released three ECW DVD's, all of which have become best sellers, and produced a very profitable ECW pay-per-view event in June 2005, with another ECW pay-per-view scheduled for this June 11, 2006. With consumer interest at an all-time high, WWE is introducing ECW as a complementary brand to RAW and SmackDown.

"After keeping the ECW concept alive and creating an enormous cult-like following for all things ECW from DVD's to PPV's to books, we feel that now the time is right to officially launch ECW as its own stand-alone franchise," said Vince McMahon, WWE Chairman. "RAW, SmackDown and ECW now represent a portfolio of WWE brands for fans of all ages and interests to enjoy."

Similar to WWE's RAW and SmackDown brands, WWE will produce, market and promote a full line of ECW products from television programs to pay-per-views to live events to licensed consumer goods.

In a related announcement, The SCI FI Channel today announced it would start airing one-hour episodes of a new ECW live television program, debuting June 13 at 10 p.m. ET.

actually I think RVD should win this one. I like Cena and I think he is a good wreslter but everyone's reign must come to an end. they should use that time for him to work on his skills.

the reason everyone boos Cena is because he can't wrestle... he has like 2 moves.
he needs to improve allot before people will accept him as World Champion material.

Stone Cold never had that many moves either and everyone loves him. i do agree that he is being a bit over exposed but it's no different then what has always happend with Triple H

Stone Cold might have done a single suplex every 2-3 matches, at best. Point is, skill with the mic is the single most important quality. Whats interesting is that even though there is a much larger television appeal for the mic-performers, the amazing wrestlers still find a way to steal the spot light during a match, but some character is needed. Look at Dean Malencho (sp?), all the wrestling skill in the world and hardly any mic skills.

Details On Orlando Jordan’s Firing & Heat With Vince

PWInsider reports that the release of Orlando Jordan had been expected by some within the company before WWE.com made it official this afternoon.

Jordan was scheduled to wrestle Tatanka at this week’s Smackdown tapings in California, but was pulled out of a pre-show meeting and sent from the building by WWE management. Apparently Jordan had extremely upset WWE officials, including Vince McMahon, for having an unauthorized person with him on the road and backstage at events.

WWE To Announce New RAW GM On Monday

WWE.com said:
RAW gets a new General Manager
By Ed Williams III
May 26, 2006

For several months Monday Night RAW has been without a General Manager. But that will finally come to an end, this Monday, right at 9 p.m. ET when Mr. McMahon will make the announcement that will change RAW forever and names a new General Manager.

Throughout RAW’s entire existence, Eric Bischoff has been the only General Manager. Bischoff shocked the world when he shook Mr. McMahon’s hand in July 2002 and filled the position. But Bischoff’s time as boss came to an end in December 2005 when a trial was held and Mr. McMahon rules that Bischoff was an incompetent GM. Mr. McMahon had heard enough and “took out the trash” as he literally threw Bischoff into a garbage truck.

Before Bischoff was the GM of RAW, though, he was the head of WCW – the same company that tried to put WWE and Mr. McMahon out of business. If Mr. McMahon was willing to hire a past mortal enemy like Bischoff, there’s no telling who he might bring in as the new GM.

Over the years, SmackDown has had a few General Managers of their own. In addition to current GM Theodore Long, Stephanie McMahon and Paul Heyman have also been at the helm. With their experience both would be prime candidates for the position, but you never can tell with Mr. McMahon.

Find out who Mr. McMahon will appoint as the new General Manager of RAW this Monday at 9/8 CT on the USA Network.

Vince McMahon Has Big Plans for ECW

WWE.com said:
ECW Going Global
May 26, 2006

WWE Chairman Vince McMahon has big plans for ECW. In fact, in a Friday afternoon interview with WWE.com, McMahon revealed, “We are taking the ECW brand global.”

Going worldwide with the likes of Paul Heyman, Tommy Dreamer and Sabu, however, is miles away from where ECW was prior to its closing in 2001. In fact, stationed out of Philadelphia, many looked at ECW as just a northeastern wrestling promotion. But the recently re-launched ECW will not have much of a struggle making an impact both here in the United States and overseas. In fact, according to Mr. McMahon, ECW already has plans for its own Merchandising and Licensing, International Sales, consistent Live Event schedule, as well as its own set of pay-per-views.

But with so much of WWE’s global enterprise behind it, can ECW be expected to be the same ECW it was when it developed its cult-like following in the late 1990s and early 2000s?

“We will bring forward many of the more legendary characters of ECW’s past,” said McMahon regarding today’s ECW. “But it can’t be the same. That’s pretty much impossible. It’s now five years later. A lot of the performers now have five more years under their belt, and the ECW style has taken a great deal out of them. This is something that the ECW audience already realizes. They know that if ECW was still in business today, they would be very different from what they were five years ago.”

While the re-launched ECW will undoubtedly be different from the original ECW, McMahon is adamant that the brand will not stop pushing the envelope, nor will it be like the already successful WWE brands SmackDown and RAW.

“It will be an alternative, there’s no doubt about that,” claimed the WWE Chairman. “It won’t be shot the same way we shoot SmackDown or RAW. It’ll have a different feel. It will be more gritty. There will also be more imagination put into concepts and characters. But at the same time, there will need to be a delicate balance because there are three masters to serve. There’s the small, vocal ECW audience. Then there’s the SCI FI audience that is accustomed to things more SCI FI. And obviously, you have to also be true to our broader audience in terms of what sports-entertainment is today.”

With so much of the vision of the new ECW brand already mapped out, many wonder what took WWE so long to re-launch the brand. According to McMahon, it was all about timing.

“Over the last several years, we have been busy re-establishing the concept of ECW without it having to be its own brand,” said McMahon. “Now, with the success of The Rise and Fall of ECW DVD and the success of last year’s One Night Stand pay-per-view, it just seemed right. And it feels like this year’s One Night Stand pay-per-view will be a launch to re-establish the brand.”

So with the launch of the re-established brand right around the corner, will former ECW head Paul Heyman have a role? “Absolutely,” exclaimed McMahon. “But at the end of the day, Mr. McMahon is in charge.”

Rumored Names For New General Manager

In regards to the recent announcement that Vince McMahon will be revealing the new RAW General Manager, sources say that a few of the rumored names included Dusty Rhodes, Shane McMahon, JBL and Jonathan "The Coach" Coachman.

Back in December when Eric Bischoff was removed as the General Manger of RAW, Dusty Rhodes was heavily rumored as being the one to replace Bischoff on TV in the role. However, WWE decided to put the angle on the backburner and they are now going forward with no promotion or build-up whatsoever.

Also with the recent turn of events on Smackdown! were JBL was forced to leave that brand if after he lost his match to Mysterio could also make him a strong candidate for the running of RAW General Manager. Seeing as JBL needs time off from the ring to nurse some nagging injuries, he could be very likely and obviously has the talent on the mic for the role. Some feel Shane McMahon would be too predictable and that using The Coach wouldn't go over very well with the WWE audience. However, given how over The Coach is with the backstage WWE Staff and how long they have kept him off TV, anything is possible at this point.

Victims Of WWE Drug Testing Revealed

Effective immediately, Joey Mercury has been sent to drug rehab and he will be out of action indefinitely. This is one of the major factors as to why MNM parted ways. Also, Mercury was said to be the “glue” of the team, and he basically was the point man in regards to laying out most of their matches.

Chris Masters is also another possible culprit of WWE’s drug testing. Its being said that there is a good chance that Masters will be taken off the road for an indefinite period of time. There is no specific reason as to why he may be taken off the road, however, it was said that "your first guess would be the correct guess."

why whould those guys screw up there future like that. there young and had alot of potential. one of the many reasons why drugs are a waste of time.

thanks for the update, i seen it already anyway, but it's ok you said it :)
