There are so many reasons that I like Zack Ryder. Aside from the fact that he worked with Edge, is extremely charismatic, and a really good performer, the main reason is that he has pushed himself and basically created himself, his gimmick and his catchphrases. I remember hearing an interview on PWR with Scotty 2 Hotty and he said the thing that separated Attitude wrestlers from today's wrestlers is that attitude wrestlers had personality. Back in the Attitude era, even if a mid card guy like Scotty 2 Hotty came out, the crowd would actually do his grunts along with him when he did the worm, or also with the Dudleys for example, the crowd would say WASSSSUUUP or D-Von GET THE TABLES. Zack Ryder reminds me of these guys because he has his own little catchphrases and he can get the crowd into a match by entertaining them like the guys in the Attitude era did. I also like that WWE is building him very slowly, as opposed to what they did with Cena. Ryder loses matches so you want to see him improve, and he doesn't get airtime/title shots so more anticipation can be built for when he actually does get a push.
That being said, I don't really enjoy Ryder's videos but it worked for him cause it put him in the spotlight where I became a fan of him, call me a bandwagon fan if you will, I don't care, I can guarantee guys like Ryder and Ziggler who use social media, like Twitter, to their advantage, will be the future of the WWE and fan favorites.
