what was it really? was it a herniated disc in his neck? or was that just part of the angle to have him out for an extended period?
Jeff Jarrett and Tomko were on the TNA Impact tapings this week. Jeff Jarrett was seen in the rafters much like Sting and you'll probably see him as the show closes. Tomko was putting over Samoa Joe and is working without a contract. He did quit the company and was going to go to Japan but I guess those plans fell through and he contacted TNA about returning.
WWE has got quite the injured reserve list:

Breaking News: Mick Foley & TNA Agree To Terms
Report by TNAWrestlingNews.com Staff on 08/27/2008 at 10:31 PM
TNAWrestlingNews.com can report tonight that TNA and Mick Foley have
come to an agreement. He will able to debut in TNA as soon he is
contractually permitted to. His current contract with WWE expires by
September 1.
TNAWrestlingNews.com can also report that Spike TV helped TNA in
landing the deal with Foley, and he may have a subsidized contract.
Foley could end up being involved in other projects with Spike TV.
WWE dropped Foley from television a few weeks ago after they found he
was unhappy with his status in the company and likely not renewing his
contract.
There was a lot of buzz among the wrestlers in the locker room this
past, but TNA officials are keeping quiet on the situation. Although,
they were hopeful that TNA President Dixie Carter would get a deal
done with Foley.

only Jarrett's music to end the show with STING in the ring. no actual footage of him.
TNA tapes multiple shows in advance, it's probably a future show leading closer to the PPV. (I had a feeling this was going to come up.) WWE tends to tape shows that are probably happening that particular week.
i have been a glancer at TNA for a while now. maybe catch half the show every week. with Foley now going there i'm going to be watching every week.
my only complaint is that it looks (broadcast wise) exactly like WCW used to be. and although there are decents amount of wrestling they need to have less interviews/backstage promos. it seems like there are 2 seperate interviews before and after every commercial break. and not focus so much on the women, they are good but i want more of the names in the company on the "free" show each week not just have the top names on the PPV.
some of the womens matches should not take up a commercial break that's too long of a womens match.
The Women's division is the main reason I watch TNA. They have what the WWE used to have, women wrestlers. WWE is starting to get back to that (I hope) but TNA just simply beats them out. Before the TNA Knockout's division I barely watched TNA but now I try to watch every week. When was the last time you saw a Diva get hit with a chair or an equivalent weapon. Like Jumbo Jim said, the Knockout's division gets the highest ratings on the show and they really show why. I do agree with you though that it does seem like it's WCW.TNA focus on there Women's division as it is the part of the show which gains the highest ratings. So they give the viewers what they want.

Just turn down the sound and watch her.I want to know how Gail Kim leaving is going to affect the women's division. She was the backbone of the whole thing, and it was her and Awesome Kong that made it. I'm questioning whether or not she'll be used appropriately in WWE. She is good enough to be the next Trish, but I'm afraid they'll stick her on SmackDown and use her like Victoria.
Speaking of Trish, she was on Canada AM this morning, talking about a new show of her's. It's a travelling show, they showed a clip of her learning how to fight with a sword. It looks interesting, though it's not my type of show. Trish still looks amazing, though. I think she looks better now.
