...earn $60,000 a year and never have to work again. You can work still, but you will not be paid for it. You'd be working merely for the love of your career.

or

...do what you're currently doing for the rest of your life but be in peak physical condition until the day you die. You can't quit and get another job. Can't move up the corporate ladder. You can eat, drink, abuse whatever you want, but cannot use your fitness to earn money. McDonalds for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Heroin binge weekends. You get the idea. You'll die of old age and never have any health problems or concerns until you die. This doesn't mean you can't die. Accidents do happen.

What do you value? Health or money?

I personally hate working. The idea of having to do something for so many hours a week is shit. If you do something you love and enjoy your work, good for you. If I entered an industry I loved, or made a career out of a hobby, I would develop a hate for it and resent it. I'd take the money hands down. $60,000 is plenty to live a happy, recreational life. Unlike work, exercising can be fun and I would have no problem staying fit with my schedule open 24/7.

What say you, board?

Well, I already make more than $60k, and that's hardly enough to have a good living in the Bay Area. Besides, my body's already fucked up in large part BECAUSE of my job. flylicker

I'd way rather have the health guarantee. I love what I do, so bully for me. But I have a lot of cancer in my family, and I'd love not to go that route...

i'd take the money in a heartbeat, i have no debt and minimal bills and i enjoy working out and being healthy anyway...i'm not much into hard substances or shitty food either regardless of consequences so that's not appealing to me..

Health definitely. I can live with the money I work with just now.

All that standing on street corners will do that to you though.

The irony of modern times is that we exploit our bodies to make money but when we get old we spend the same money to cure our exhausted bodies. Beside that i chose to work and earn more money. It's simply, i feel better.

I hate working too, but 60k per year is not even close to financial liberty, at least not where I live.

And knowing what it's like to be sick, and having seen many people close to me suffer in illness - it's a given choice for me. I'd smoke, drink, do drugs and eat whatever I wanted to every single day.
