I hurt my knee today, so I take health.

Here Zombie, Zombie, Zombie...
That's a tough choice.

If that $60k was blown out to $75 to $100k, I'd go for that in a heartbeat.

But if I could get back my perfect vision from years ago and how about my hair too? :uohs:

I'm really in the middle on that one.

Health. You can have all the money in the world and still suffer on your deathbed and die. So in the end, money doesn't mean a thing.

^^^ This.

Certainly not for $60K/year and probably not even $6 million a year would I choose money over my health.

You're not choosing money over health. You can have both in either choice. I choose money not because I neglect my health, but because my free time is more valuable than being in peak condition. Sure I can get sick, but I'd take that risk over spending 40+ hours at a place I don't want to be with people I don't want to be with.

I'd be plenty happy with 60 g's. If you can't live off that, you need to move.

Wouldn't the same be true if you have a job that you don't like, around people that you don't like? Do something else. That's what I did... 20 years ago this month (I just realized that). I was doing what I'd dreamed of doing and then I grew to truly hate it. So I moved into a totally different profession, where I felt like I had more purpose. So I agree in part. If you don't like where you live... move. And if you don't like what you're doing for a living... move.

But the question stipulates you can't quit. Unless you're talking about in general, than yes, I agree. When I said the hate job/people thing, I was just speaking in generalities. I think most people are doing something they don't want to do. I personally don't hate my job. I'm overpaid and underworked and I have solid health benefits. I have to deal with the odd scumbag and asshole hockey parents occasionally, but its actually decent. I don't plan on staying or anything, but until I do, minimal complaints. It keeps me drunk, fed, sheltered and entertained. I'm a simple man.
