I Would NEVER marry anyone without a pre nup - and I am not rich. Trust is earned, not given away.
Marriage? Trust? What is the divorce rate? 40%? Never trust anyone that much. Only over time can that kind of trust be grown. And I am talking years and years, not a few months.

I see what you are saying. Trust isn't given. It's earned. That is something I have lived by my entire life. Although, I would never marry somebody I didn't fully trust. Even if it ended up taking years and years to get to that point. If I had to be fearful of putting my money in their hands what kind of relationship am I building on the first place? It would seem I would have a relationship that isn't even on a stable footing to begin with. That would almost be condemning it to fail as much as anything else. I think the divorce rate is so high because people tend to be dumb and make decisions that are poorly thought out in the first place. If I was ever going to marry somebody not only could I trust them to handle my money I would trust them to put my very life in their hands without question. I think short of that marrying somebody is a bad idea. (assuming it is for love I am not naive enough to think that there are no people out there that married for financial or other tactical reasons, which I also think is usually bad in the long run)
