Kia's are now acceptable... once upon a time nobody would drive a Honda or Toyota...
so i do not want to be one of the first here to drive a Chinese car, but give them a few years & get one before everyone else realizes the quality is in place & the price skyrockets...

besides, i won't be eating any of the upholstery, so if there's melamine in it, so what?!

maybe they can buy GM and the first Chinese car i'll drive would be the new camaro.

in 1947 a car was invented that would run for 100 years without having to replace any parts. The inventor was laughed out of ever company that he tried to sell the design to and he died died penniless in the streets.

hate to tell you this, but all cars are pieces of shit. they are designed to break down so that you have to buy new ones, that's what keeps the auto industry in business. A car is the worst investment, it is the only thing that depreciates in value the second that you buy it. Unless you have a car that is a collectors item and is filled with brand new high-performance parts, it will never be worth more than what you paid for it.

all of the car parts are already made in china anyway. only the hood ornaments are made in America.

He would have been. It's one of those tales that does the rounds like the one about cars that run on water and the oil companies paid off the inventor. One limiting factor in 1947 was oil and fuel , it's modern oils in particular which have enabled modern cars to be so long lived and reliable. Then there's metallurgy and engineering developments and electronics.......
When an old car breaks down it's cheaper to buy another one than to pay for repairs .They aren't scrapped because they can't be repaired , it's simply that a good used car would be a cheaper option.

Silly name for a car.. 'Ever'

Seriously (ahem), chances are, five minutes after buying it, you'd want to buy another..

I probably wouldn't just because it is a Chinese car. But, if the car is better then anything else on the market, and for a better price, why not? As long as it is the right size (I don't want some tiny car, it needs to be big), I'd consider getting one.
