Why not? I'm just curious...I don't think a stripper/pornstar is an inappropriate career, but I wouldn't date someone in either of those professions.
I thought the "perks" of a relationship was companionship, mutual respect and love. The perks of a relationship is what goes on behind closed doors, in the privacy of your bedroom.
Well, that's your opinion. I don't think that's true, but you're welcome to your opinion. With strippers/pornstars, there is no privacy or closed doors. All doors are open. There isn't even a door.
I don't think "love" and "sex" are one and the same. Like I explained to my son and daughter when they were teenagers: "There is a difference between having sex and making love".I also think someone has to have a very different set of morals to get involved in that industry. Sex is something you do for money, instead of something you do with someone you love and I think that would carry on into the rest of the relationship.
I wouldn't care about her job as long as she liked it and made good money from it. I would care more about her hobbies and politics. I couldn't be with a bible beater, small town conservative woman.

I believe that is what fosters the blatant & sometimes subtle disrespect for the Pornstars/strippers I see on the forums & sometimes in person at strip clubs.
Men who do enjoy watching these women perform certain acts ,but coming out against the women(hypocritically not looking at themselves) with these strong moral judgements.
I actually admire the fortitude that many of these women have to not give a damn about the self righteous moralist in this country who try to make them feel guilty about their jobs which many like/love. I only wish my job gave me so much fun/pleasure.
I wouldn't have 'serious' issues dating a pornstar/stripper if I 'felt' that she truly cared for me .
To be fair to the people that wouldn't date a pornstar, there is a HUGE difference between watching something on screen or on stage and being in a close personal intimate relationship with somebody. I'm not the morality police, and I don't tell other people how to live their lives, but on a personal level I would have a lot of problems with somebody who basically sells themselves out so easily like that for money. Despite how somebody tries to spin it to sound good that's pretty much what's happening. Some people just don't find that an admirable quality in a person. Sex isn't something that I could do in a casual manner, and I would expect the same from any partner I would want to be with. It's as simple as that.
Also I think a lot of people highly overestimate the amount most pornstars like their jobs. Even a lot of them feel guilt over it without any outside help. Most of them aren't doing it for the fun, or pleasure, or to make their fans happy. The majority of them do it almost entirely for the money, and if they could find anything else that would pay them nearly as well, or even often less I think the overwhelming majority of them wouldn't be doing what they are doing. That's the reality of the situation. That's not to mention they willingly associate themselves in an industry that has an uncountable number of scumbags and shady characters that work in it, and that a good portion of them are in fact drug addicted, naive, fickle, and act immature while blowing most of their money way. There are a small handful of decent ponrstars out there that I can have at least some respect for, but there is also very good reasons why much of the stereotypes about the rest of them exist in the first place.

I find it amusing that some people think strippers, porn stars and other folk who accept payment to render sexual favors or other services can't also be, you know... ordinary people like everyone else. With their own personality, likes, dislikes and yes, dreams and opinions.
Yes, she strips for money. Yes, she lets strange men fondle her. But that doesn't mean she has no concept of "privacy" or respect.
She's a human being - not a piece of meat.

All that said: There ain't no "right" or "wrong" answer. We each have our own personalities and quirks and likes and dislikes.
cheers,
Simple enough, would anything put you off a girl you like, for instance if her job involved crawling around in sewers, or if her hobbies included clubbing seals or shooting bunnies? Stuff that you disagree with, or may find distasteful or even cruel. :wave2:
