Would A Girl's Job Or Hobby Put You Off?

That said, there are a few stars that I wouldn't be able to say no to. Nina, Faith, Sara and Brandy. <3

You forgot Peter and Lex. :1orglaugh

I wouldn't care about her job as long as she liked it and made good money from it. I would care more about her hobbies and politics. I couldn't be with a bible beater, small town conservative woman.

You generally can't sweep things under the rug in a long-term relationship... if something is very important to a person, to the point of being an integral part of the person's substance, and you hate that something - then you can't possibly love the person. If you hate the person's hobbies, lifestyle, job, views on life, etc. then you're just fooling yourself and the person, and suffering eachother to be in a doomed relationship.

And it's happened to me all the time, when I was in a relationship and kept trying to put things aside... but some things are just too big a part of the person to ignore, being rooted deep in their personality and psyche.

Conspiracy...
There are many jobs I would have a problem with and they would prevent me from dating/ marrying someone.

Stripper, porn star, and job where nudity/ kissing/ sex were involved, so add acting to the list. Abortion, it's murder and there's no way around that.

Catholic, Satanist, against guns or against the death penalty. I guess the last few weren't actual jobs. ;)

I could make a list much larger than this.

I was looking on a dating site and came across one profile that said,
"If you like flipping burgers at McDonalds we won't be a match. Girls like nice things."

Gold digger supreme. No wonder she was twenty-three and single.
She is a spinster.

It's one thing to not agree with someone and their job.
But, just because they don't make enough money is wrong.

It's funny to me how many different things you have listed, so many jobs which to me are just jobs, and beliefs that would seem trivial to many people, but I suppose are important to you.

For me, the only thing that would put me off would be animal cruelty. Being a pornstar would be a tricky choice, but if she was fit enough I'd go for it, at least in the short term. And I'd definitely date a stripper, odds are she'd be well fit and the fun of saying to others "you can see, but I get the whole deal", that would be a fun bonus. :1orglaugh

I'd even be fine with other jobs and beliefs formerly mentioned, up to and including Satanism or Axe murdering, provided they didn't sacrifice animals or kill innocent people, plenty of guilty ones around for that.

I guess I'm a generally unfussy and easygoing person. :wave2:

I don't think a stripper/pornstar is an inappropriate career, but I wouldn't date someone in either of those professions.
Why not? I'm just curious...

The perks of a relationship is what goes on behind closed doors, in the privacy of your bedroom.
I thought the "perks" of a relationship was companionship, mutual respect and love.

With strippers/pornstars, there is no privacy or closed doors. All doors are open. There isn't even a door.
Well, that's your opinion. I don't think that's true, but you're welcome to your opinion.

I find it amusing that some people think strippers, porn stars and other folk who accept payment to render sexual favors or other services can't also be, you know... ordinary people like everyone else. With their own personality, likes, dislikes and yes, dreams and opinions.

Yes, she strips for money. Yes, she lets strange men fondle her. But that doesn't mean she has no concept of "privacy" or respect.
She's a human being - not a piece of meat.

I also think someone has to have a very different set of morals to get involved in that industry. Sex is something you do for money, instead of something you do with someone you love and I think that would carry on into the rest of the relationship.
I don't think "love" and "sex" are one and the same. Like I explained to my son and daughter when they were teenagers: "There is a difference between having sex and making love".

All that said: There ain't no "right" or "wrong" answer. We each have our own personalities and quirks and likes and dislikes.

Exactly. I dated a woman once who wanted to pressure me into going to church although I haven't been in nearly twenty years & bothering me about drinking(no alcoholic). Man she was freaking annoying.

Could care less what type of work a woman does & don't understand why anyone else would unless you want someone with the same socioeconomic status/profession you are ivolved & somehow feel she will understand you better:dunno: Which is certainly not the case.

A job that requires too much traveling may bother me EARLY on in a relationship, but as time passes it would not be an issue.

I believe that is what fosters the blatant & sometimes subtle disrespect for the Pornstars/strippers I see on the forums & sometimes in person at strip clubs.
Men who do enjoy watching these women perform certain acts ,but coming out against the women(hypocritically not looking at themselves) with these strong moral judgements.

I actually admire the fortitude that many of these women have to not give a damn about the self righteous moralist in this country who try to make them feel guilty about their jobs which many like/love. I only wish my job gave me so much fun/pleasure.
I wouldn't have 'serious' issues dating a pornstar/stripper if I 'felt' that she truly cared for me .

To be fair to the people that wouldn't date a pornstar, there is a HUGE difference between watching something on screen or on stage and being in a close personal intimate relationship with somebody. I'm not the morality police, and I don't tell other people how to live their lives, but on a personal level I would have a lot of problems with somebody who basically sells themselves out so easily like that for money. Despite how somebody tries to spin it to sound good that's pretty much what's happening. Some people just don't find that an admirable quality in a person. Sex isn't something that I could do in a casual manner, and I would expect the same from any partner I would want to be with. It's as simple as that.

Also I think a lot of people highly overestimate the amount most pornstars like their jobs. Even a lot of them feel guilt over it without any outside help. Most of them aren't doing it for the fun, or pleasure, or to make their fans happy. The majority of them do it almost entirely for the money, and if they could find anything else that would pay them nearly as well, or even often less I think the overwhelming majority of them wouldn't be doing what they are doing. That's the reality of the situation. That's not to mention they willingly associate themselves in an industry that has an uncountable number of scumbags and shady characters that work in it, and that a good portion of them are in fact drug addicted, naive, fickle, and act immature while blowing most of their money way. There are a small handful of decent ponrstars out there that I can have at least some respect for, but there is also very good reasons why much of the stereotypes about the rest of them exist in the first place.

Very well said D.

I'd like to know why disliking your girlfriend to be a porn actress, but liking porn just the same is hypocrite. It's not.
Of course it is that through the labor of others, I can get what I want, but I (and I believe many people with me) do not dislike the profession itself. It's just that certain aspects of the job are hard to rhyme with a monogamous relationship.

That being said, I personally wouldn't mind my gf to be a pornstar if we would have an open relationship. She'd understand the difference betwoon physical lust and emotional love so I guess it wouldn't be much of a problem. I do mind the ethics of my girlfriend, so no killing cute kittens and I'd like her to be a bit intelligent, preferably that'd be reflected in her hobby.

I'd answer your questions, but this is almost a year old. You might be dead, or dying somewhere, so there is really no point.

what the fuck you lookin at?
Simple enough, would anything put you off a girl you like, for instance if her job involved crawling around in sewers, or if her hobbies included clubbing seals or shooting bunnies? Stuff that you disagree with, or may find distasteful or even cruel. :wave2:

not if it was good pussy!

Why would you want a mail order bride that looked like Katie Couric? I wouldn't fuck her or anyone that looked remotely like her.

All good arguments on an ancient argument on these boards. I truly dont know myself. At risk of appearing nuts, amoral or a pussy if the chick was really hot and we got on I would probably let it slide as long as we didnt talk about it even I got my jealousy tolerance lol.

Yep the only other reasons that I can see why I personally would be hesitant about it. Would be:

A: She could have possible man issues and actually be unable to get close.
B: Her and Co-worker might get extra curricular.

As for the hobbies and job thing I dont give a fuck if we clicked and are into some similiar things its all sweet. Just dont dwell on sensitive areas like her political opinions or what not.
