I was a bit shocked by that bit of footage as well, however I took it to be merely a demonstration that the skills he'd acquired were now well beyond the scope of the film and had reached into regions only our imaginations could conjure. In that sense I thought it was a good ending, as it left me wondering a bit, and, as I mentioned earlier, I perfer endings like that to the ones where all the thinking's been done for me by the writers and all that's left for me to do is sit there and vegetate.
Incidentally, the somewhat open ending to The Matrix was one of the main reasons why I disliked the idea of a sequel(s). There are some story endings that are best left to the imagination, some secrets I'd prefer not to know. I think anyone who was as disappointed with Reloaded and Revolutions as I was will know what I mean.

SiliconeTits said:glad you said the last paragraph i was about to reply with something like that. anyho i see your pont and agree totally but it just bugged me senceless....neo flying and then that god awful record playing in the background....i think it would of been alot more dramatic if they had just had him swallow himself up in a bubble type effect when he comes out of the telephone booth.
in saying waht you said tho...perhaps i wouldnt of found it such a bad ending if they hadnt done reloaded and "revaltions" ( )
:nannerf2:LetoII said:definitely "Matrix Revolutions". don't get me wrong. i loved the Matrix I & II, the sheer idea of the story was brillant, but the horrible end of part III spoiled the whole saga. Neo = the superman messiah in AND outside the matrix, and brings peace to both humans and machines ?!:wtf: the Wachowski Bros. turned "Revolutions" into a weak fantasy movie...
tunsty said:the character of Anakin Skywalker has now changed! Rather than the older gentleman who was in the original, Lucas has now replaced that image with an image of Hayden Christiansen (the 'young' Anakin Skywalker/Darth Vader) instead!
Yup, kinda strange.. why not show Obi Wan as a younger person, ie Ewan McGregor?.( I'm not sure what Yoda looked like younger, probably had a full head of hair with an Elvis Quiff or something)
Lucas shouldn't have tinkered with the films..
