Worst Movie Ending Ever

I see your point despite the fact that I saw The Matrix as being more than just a "good, brainless action flick." I was a bit shocked by that bit of footage as well, however I took it to be merely a demonstration that the skills he'd acquired were now well beyond the scope of the film and had reached into regions only our imaginations could conjure. In that sense I thought it was a good ending, as it left me wondering a bit, and, as I mentioned earlier, I perfer endings like that to the ones where all the thinking's been done for me by the writers and all that's left for me to do is sit there and vegetate.

Incidentally, the somewhat open ending to The Matrix was one of the main reasons why I disliked the idea of a sequel(s). There are some story endings that are best left to the imagination, some secrets I'd prefer not to know. I think anyone who was as disappointed with Reloaded and Revolutions as I was will know what I mean.

glad you said the last paragraph i was about to reply with something like that. anyho i see your pont and agree totally but it just bugged me senceless....neo flying and then that god awful record playing in the background....i think it would of been alot more dramatic if they had just had him swallow himself up in a bubble type effect when he comes out of the telephone booth.

in saying waht you said tho...perhaps i wouldnt of found it such a bad ending if they hadnt done reloaded and "revaltions" ( :D )

Return of the Jedi, people dancing in the streets , star wars theme done with a flute... yuk

LMAO. Y'know, I was afraid to post my reply to this because, obviously, I'm a Star Wars geek. However, tunsty has hit the nail on the head with this observation.
I just bought the DVD set of original trilogy yesterday and watched 'em all (again... for the trillionth time) last night.
In Return Of The Jedi, the last few scenes showed the new enhanced celebration scenes that appeared in the re-release movies/VHS. I noticed, though, that when Luke sees the spirits of all his former master/mentors, the character of Anakin Skywalker has now changed! Rather than the older gentleman who was in the original, Lucas has now replaced that image with an image of Hayden Christiansen (the 'young' Anakin Skywalker/Darth Vader) instead!
I know he wants to make the movies "better" now that technology has caught up with his vision, but still... to replace an actor's image with that of another is a step too far. It's sacrilege!
Hell, label me a Star Wars purist! Some things are sacred!!!!!!!!!!!

Yup, kinda strange.. why not show Obi Wan as a younger person, ie Ewan McGregor?.( I'm not sure what Yoda looked like younger, probably had a full head of hair with an Elvis Quiff or something)
Lucas shouldn't have tinkered with the films..

i cudn't believe that they took out that ewok song rite at the end of ruturn of jedi, i loved that song, :'(

I watched the Directors Cut of the Butterfly Effect. Man, what a horrible ending.

How does he know that him killing himself in the womb wouldn't lead to his mother killing herself after 3 still borns

It just didn't make sense.

Unfortunately, I never seen the regular version. I heard that ending is better. And makes more sense. The directors cut ending sucked major cocks

That "god awful record" is Wake Up by Rage Against the Machine, and I happen to really like that song! I also find it very fitting for the end of the movie.

One point I failed to mention above: The ending to the Matrix is not just the flying sequence, but the voiceover where by Neo addresses the audience directly, warning us that we are, in fact, within the Matrix as well. That was fooking brilliant IMO.

Haven't heard from you in a while, matey. Glad to see you're still checking in regularly. :)

I have to agree with Leto II here...

Matrix Revolutions ending just blewww dog, they just fucked up a perfectly good set of movies with that one...first blinding Neo and then killing Trinity.....DUMB DUMB DUMB

:nannerf2:

:wtf

definitely "Matrix Revolutions". don't get me wrong. i loved the Matrix I & II, the sheer idea of the story was brillant, but the horrible end of part III spoiled the whole saga. Neo = the superman messiah in AND outside the matrix, and brings peace to both humans and machines ?!:wtf: the Wachowski Bros. turned "Revolutions" into a weak fantasy movie...

Uhhhh
Anakin Skywalker IS Darth Vader and always was

I think you are referring to Obi Wan who originally was played by Alec Guiness who would be too old to be a younger Obi-Wan

I agree with you, i don't think Lucas should have messed with the original movies they screwed up some great scenes

one in particular is the one between Greedo and Solo and Greedo misses at point blank range.....GIVE ME A BREAK!!

Although I think it is the greatest movie ending of all time, I've heard a lot of people say that Arlington Road has the worst ending ever.

Hey thanks for the spoiler for The Butterfly Effect, HarryLime!!! No need to see it now...

Like I said, that was the Director's Cut ending. The REAL ending is completely different from what I heard. I haven't seen that one yet. I just watched the Director's Cut because I figured it was the usual thing with just some added scenes or extrending scenes. Didn't think it was a completely different ending
