Worst Band Names

On you? No, I was just commenting on Lil Whyte, not you. Not at all. I don't care what you listen to, it just sucks to see the dumbing down of entertainment. And it's not satire...there's no stigma attached to prescription drugs these days. Until recently, I used to hit a few dive bars on occasion and I saw that Oxies and Perks are openly and proudly consumed like candy by people under 35. My point is that it's ridiculous that I get looked at like a loon when I advocated decriminalization all narcotics, yet people are popping "legal" opiates without any worry of Johnny Law.

Btw, in high school, I got an entire day of in school suspension for calling Greg Louganis "Greh HugeAnus". When the principal called my dad, my dad laughed. :1orglaugh

Eh, my thing is I've never been influenced by music like that. I put on http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_EzzGrWxGHk and I absolutely laugh my ass off, every time. Every fuckin' time it's :rofl2: To me it's just satire. Seriously...just it's totally amusing to me. I mean, tell Wyte's "Acid" doesn't have you ROFL :1orglaugh

I have never wanted to go pop some synthetic heroin (oxys) because of a song. Never. Only time I ever took 'shrooms or E was when I was at a party or with some hippies at a Willie Nelson concert or if someone said to watch The Wall. :D

The dude just raps about such outlandish subject-matter that you can't help but laugh. Impressionable young kids...will they be influenced? I suppose so. That's why there's PA on stuff like that and on movies like Saw and so on. If kids are so brainless to go do something because of a song society totally let them fall through the cracks.

:2 cents:

Just to be clear, I'm not calling for censorship or Federal regulation...I'm firmly opposed to that. However, I'd be lying to both you and myself if I said that this shit didn't influence a wide spectrum of the public. The economy began to improve after 1990, yet gangs and gang violence rose dramatically. If you don't think certain elements of hip hop played a big part in that than I'd truly love to share your opinion of the will of humanity. Does anybody remember Bangin' in Littlerock? How can you deny that it was a direct result of media influence?

You have a brain and a spine and ambition so, clearly, you can listen to this shit and enjoy it as nothing more than entertainment. But I can guarantee you that there's a significantly large number of people who'll listen to this shit as an anthem or part of a pill ritual. The same way that that my friends and I would play Dre's The Chronic and smoke weed back in 1992-3.

Nothing should "be done about it" and government has absolutely no right to suppress it, but I do feel compelled to say what it is and who it's catered to, for the most part. I've seen in it first hand.

Sorry, not to keep this going, but do you really think this retard is capable of producing intentional satire?? He's bragging about "overdosing" on "every drug you can think of."

I agree with pretty much everything you said. Society is rotting. "Parents" are not parents anymore. A lot of examples (probably too much to list here, but I know brother Facetious has posted them out on here before [perhaps he'll opine :)]) point to it. Everything is so confusing now, and yeah, kids do log on at school, the library and other places and have access to all sorts of shit.

I can't believe you brought up Bangin' in Little Rock. We were watching that back in like JH or something. I remember that. I had probably a dozen close friends or so who watched and were entertained by that and all we ever really did was mock them. We would cock our hats and act all "gangsta and shit." You just brought back memories.

Man, we're getting too philosophical for this funny ass thread. :o

"Parents" are not parents anymore.
That's what I meant when I inferred that white trash addicts are raising the youth. I don't put the blame on them alone. It really is the parents and the generation...or rather, the degeneration. But people like Lil Whyte surely contribute and there's no way that they can be unaware of it.

On other forums, I've defended the rights of people like Louis Farrakhan and William Luther Pierce, so let me again make it clear that I, in no way, oppose the the right of anybody to speak. Be it based on belief or profit.

Yeah, I know him and have seen a lot of footage of Youtube of his antics. It is what it is. Sell records. Brittany spread her legs and a boat load of women put out sex tapes purposely to get $$$. This dude is just milking the system. If I were a musician (and I am a producer, to an extent - let's not go there :1orglaugh) I honsetly would distance myself from the stuff. So you got me on that. I would probably not use profanity or sleaze around Hollywood acting like a freaking tool. But I'm thinking back to real old Hollywood stuff where the people would make a fool out of themselves for $$$. I think there is history and a pretty telling trend there.

I am convinced that 3 Days Grace, Breaking Benjamin, Skillet, Hinder, Adelita's Way, Five Finger Death Punch and some others are all the same band. They are completely generic and WAY overrated. I don't have a working cd player in my car so I am constantly turning off the radio every 15 minutes when one of these bands play. I couldn't even tell you which single belongs to which band...it's that bad. It reminds me of the 80s with the hair bands....can't wait until the fad passes.

I can agree with everything you said there except maybe Hinder and Adelitas Way...they belong more grouped with Nickelback, Daughtry, 3 Doors Down, Puddle of Mudd, Shinedown, Theory of a Deadman....that group imo.

BTW, what rock station do you listen to? I listen to WIYY in Baltimore, and they refuse to play Five Finger Death Punch. They just keep on playing their Def Leppard and Three Days Grace lol.

Say, can I add rap groups/artists to this list, because I'd be here all day. I rarely, and I mean rarely hear of a good rapper name. Just look at my avy for chryssakes. He's totally the best rapper alive right now but Greg LuGAYness would be better sounding than that. :D

Go for it. It's a free country. :dunno:

Goblincock! A real band honest!

That's who I was trying to think of when I came up with The Circle Jerks. Goblincock is priceless. :1orglaugh

Why do they refuse to play Five Finger Death Punch? I listen to KFMX out of Texas. Can't say they play much Def Leppard, but right now they're doing a 3 song in a row thing to celebrate Memorial Day. I kid you not, they played 3 Days Grace followed by Breaking Benjamin then just a few hours later did 3 Days Grace again (and that's just from when I was actually in my car!). But they redeemed themselves when I was driving home and they played 3 Ozzy's, 3 Metallica's, and 3 Alice in Chains back to back followed by (get ready) 3 Days Grace or Breaking Benjamin again (I get them confused).

98Rock hasn't changed a bit....didn't think so.

Puddle of Mudd.

I have a friend who thinks they're the same band as P.O.D. He hasn't realized that the initials of Puddle of Mudd are P.O.M.
