Your cousin's in trouble with his girlfriend's family because they are morons, not because they are muslims.
There are families that refuses their sons and daughters (but mostly their daughters) to marry someone from another religion (or an atheit) in every religions. And there are also families that are open minded and agrees to accept peple from other religions if their sons or daughters choosed this person to be their wife/husband.
This is not a question of religion, this is a question of morality, this is about being open-minded or close-minded, about accepting people thar are different or not accepting them.
