Who is this Asian from the Bang Bus?

If people bothered to use the FreeOnes search engine with the search terms "Alexis BangBus", this thread would not even exist.

Actually we do. And you would too if you used the FreeOnes search engine as I previously recommended.

You're definitely right about a lot of newbies failing to use the search engine. However, your search term was flawed. You get better results with Alexis AND bangbus. Using the AND will eliminate hundreds, possibly thousands of results.

No. AND is the default logical operator that connects search terms on FreeOnes. "Alexis AND BangBus" returns exactly the same thing as "Alexis BangBus". Compare to "Alexis OR BangBus".

You may want to brush up on how the operators work.

Alexis AND Bangbus is not the same as "Alexis Bangbus"

Alexis AND Bangbus only returns results where both words appear in a thread, not necessarily together. I know this for a fact as I use the search function almost every day.

Prior to making this post, did you bother to compare the results of "Alexis AND BangBus" vs. "Alexis BangBus"? They return exactly the same items.

Did you bother to look at "Alexis OR BangBus" as I suggested? Had you done so, you would have noticed that at the top of the items returned, it reads :
Search: Keyword(s): alexis OR bangbus. Repeating this with AND or with no logical operator at all returns the same thing : Search: Keyword(s): alexis, bangbus

"Alexis BangBus" ----- results=0
Alexis AND BangBus --- results=12
"Alexis AND BangBus" - results=0

"Alexis OR BangBus" -- results=0
Alexis OR BangBus ---- results=5000
Alexis BangBus ------- results=5000

It would seem that you are doing something wrong. Without seeing exactly how/what/where you're doing your search, my best guess is that you're not using the quotation marks properly. 99% of my time on FreeOnes is spent in the ID section. As such, I've had to educate myself on how the search function(s) work, and as you can see from the top 2 results above, the numbers are different. If you don't believe me, ask a mod. The results above speak for themselves.

You are not very observant. If you look at the original image I posted, the search terms do not include quotation marks. They are included in the text of the post in order to make clear the search terms to be used. As I previously stated, the use of AND is equivalent to not using any logical operator at all, as far as the FreeOnes search engine is concerned. Here's the proof :

1 - 46 results and 50 results are not the same.
2 - It's obvious that you must be using a different search page than I do as the results are so different.
3 - I know my methods work. Otherwise, I wouldn't have amassed 16 million rep points.
4 - Why would you ever want to use OR?

Before running your mouth with "However, your search term was flawed. You get better results with Alexis AND bangbus. Using the AND will eliminate hundreds, possibly thousands of results.", perhaps you should have checked to see if you got the expected results with the search page under discussion, which is this one :

What FreeOnes search page were YOU using?

3 - I know my methods work. Otherwise, I wouldn't have amassed 16 million rep points.

The number of rep points you've accumulated is absolutely irrelevant to this conversation. Rep points only demonstrate that you've posted items that others liked. It doesn't demonstrate your skill at searching or, in this particular case, your knowledge of how the FreeOnes search engine works.

4 - Why would you ever want to use OR?

If the default logical operator is AND, how do you search for something like X OR Y OR Z if OR isn't available? It can be done, but it involves creating 7 separate searches :
  1. X
  2. Y
  3. Z
  4. X AND Y
  5. X AND Z
  6. Y AND Z
  7. X AND Y AND Z
